London Broncos x LIT7's- a rugby coming together in Wimbledon!

London Broncos are delighted to work together with LIT7s to enjoy as much rugby as possible in Wimbledon on the May bank holiday weekend!

Our home, The Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane, will be hosting the LIT7s London 7s on Saturday, 25 May (the day before London Broncos vs Hull KR) featuring Rugby 7s teams from 12 countries including GB, Fiji, Ireland, and Jamaica.


James Haskell Announced as Headliner for LIT7s London 7s After Party

James Haskell will be headlining the After Party of LIT7s London 7s at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane on Saturday 25th May 2024.


James Haskell needs no introduction to rugby fans, having been capped by England 77 times and had a distinguished player career at both Wasps and Northampton Saints, as well as internationally in New Zealand, Japan and France. Since retiring, Haskell has taken the club scene by storm, having DJed in Ibiza and at The Ministry of Sound, and is set to do the same at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane.


LIT7s London 7s will unfold at The Cherry Red Records Stadium home for London Broncos Super League home games. Notably, this marks the first time an international 7s rugby tournament will grace the Stadium. The tournament will have a great party atmosphere, featuring special guest pitch side hosts, celebrity DJs, the ultimate party stand, and electrifying entertainment both on and off the pitch.

Despite what appeared to be an improved visual display from the Broncos yesterday evening, a series of mistakes including 51 missed tackles eventually led to their downfall once more. On a positive note, Ethan Natoli secured his first Super League appearance AND Super League try- congratulations Ethan!

The London Broncos have their fifth Super League away game of 2024 on Friday as they face off against Leeds Rhinos at the AMT Headingly Stadium. This is the first game that the Broncos have played against Leeds since September 1 st , 2019, where the Rhinos walked away 36-10 victors in front of a crowd of 3,051 at Trailfinders. The last time that the Broncos played against the Rhinos at AMT Headingly Stadium (March 15 th , 2019), London went away 16-18 winners. The Broncos have had a difficult beginning to their 2024 Super League campaign, losing their first 9 games to St Helens Saints (40-4, click here to read the full match report ), Catalans Dragons (0-34, click here to read the full match report ) Hull FC (28-24, click here to read the full match report ), Wigan Warriors (22-60, click here to read the full match report ), Warrington Wolves (4-58, click here to read the full match report ), Huddersfield Giants (6-26, click here to read the full match report ), Hull KR (50-10, click here to read the full match report ), Salford Red Devils (4-12, click here to read the full match report ) & Castleford Tigers (40-0, click here to read the full match report ). The Broncos currently sit 12 th in the Super League. Leeds have also played nine games so far this season and are currently sat in 9 th place after winning 5 (22-16 vs Salford Red Devils, 18-10 vs Catalans Dragons, 16-22 vs Leigh Leopards, 6-26 vs Castleford Tigers & 12-18 vs Hull FC) and losing 4 (22-12 vs Hull KR, 8-18 vs St Helens, 8-34 vs Warrington Wolves & 24-30 vs Huddersfield Giants) games so far this season. Speaking ahead of our Round 10 clash on Friday, former Bronco Andy Ackers says "I’m really excited. They’re not far off their first win and they’ll be coming here all guns blazing. Some of our past performances haven’t been the best so they’ll be bright eyed and bushy tailed. “They’re a well drilled team. Mike Eccles always has them in good condition which is important for him and important for London. They have struggled for the past few years but what an achievement getting into Super League. “They’re not far off their first win but we’ll be coming out on Friday making sure that doesn’t happen”.

London Broncos launch Origin Elite Programme London Broncos are pleased to announce the launch of our Origin Elite Programme (OEP). The OEP is a 12-week Elite Programme run by the London Broncos professional coaching team, designed to prepare young players for the professional game. During the programme, players will not only receive Advanced Rugby Coaching but also holistic educational components such as Strength & Conditioning, Lifestyle Management, Nutrition and Game Intelligence. In 3 week's time we are holding trials for both North and South Squads at both U16 & U18 Age Groups. Head of Broncos Talent Pathway Nash Cohen stated "We've put together a really strong coaching team for each squad - backed up by some of the best up and coming coaching talent at Community Club level. We will be playing in the traditional Origin format of a 3-game series and although we will be delivering an elite programme across all squads - there will still be that age old rivalry between the North and South!" Leeds Rhinos vs London Broncos is a matchup which is the 2 nd most frequent in Bronco’s Super League history with the fixture taking place on 46 occasions and 61 times across all competitions. Out of these 61 occasions, the Broncos have won 13 times, lost 46 times, and drew with the Rhinos twice. The Broncos have played Leeds away from home on 34 occasions with the Broncos winning 5, losing 27 and drawing 1. The first matchup between Leeds Rhinos and London Broncos took place on November 23 rd , 1980, where Fulham RLFC came away 9-3 victors at Craven Cottage in front of a crowd of 12,583. The first time that London played against Leeds at Headingly was October 25 th , 1981, where the two sides drew 12-12 in front of a crowd of 5,158. The last time that the Broncos played against Leeds at Headingly was on March 15 th , 2019, where the Broncos came away 16-18 winners. Before this result, the Rhinos had won 4 in a row against London at Headingly. Leeds have taken on the Broncos in three of their different names since their first meeting in 1980 (Fulham RL, Harlequins RL & London Broncos) and the two sides have played each other at many different venues across their history including Craven Cottage, Headingly, Griffin Park, The Valley, Twickenham Stoop, Wembley, Stade Aime Giral, the Hive, Anfield & Trailfinders!
