
English National Ballet were very pleased to be working in partnership with the London Borough of Richmond, Combination Dance Company and London Broncos Rugby League Dance Academy professionals to deliver a new, large scale site specific work to be premiered on Friday 9 July at the Twickenham Stoop. Following a series of collaborative workshops, 80 young people from the London Borough of Richmond worked alongside dance and rugby professionals to deliver Big Dance at The Stoop. The performance, taking part on the pitch and in the stands of The Stoop, was performed to over 5,000 people on Friday 9 July as part of an evening of rugby and dance.
In the run up to Big Dance 2012, English National Ballet and London Broncos Rugby League Foundation worked in partnership to present The Pitch - a dance and film project aimed at boys. The Pitch challenged perceptions of dance and more specifically, ballet, tackling the big question of how to get boys regularly dancing.
