Prop Oliver Wilkes has joined the Scotland squad as they prepare for the Alitalia European Cup. Wilkes was in Scotland's 2088 World Cup squad and scored the winning try against Fiji in their first ever win in the competition.
England coach Steve McNamara included Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Tony Clubb and Ben Jones Bishop in his squad to train ahead of the Four Nations tournament in Australia and New Zealand this autumn. However, Jones-Bishop had to withdraw from the squad after undergoing surgery on a shoulder injury.
Rob Powell is convinced it will be a positive experience for those involved: "It's great to see so many of the players on international duty over the autumn. I'm sure their new found experiences will help them to become even better Rugby League players."
Powell will also be dipping his toes in international waters having been appointed Lebanon's interim national team coach for their four internationals this autumn. "I'm looking forward to fulfilling this responsibility and am hoping to gain valuable experience while developing as a coach," he said. "However, I'll be in permanent contact via phone and email with the players and staff at the club."
