The earlier heavy rain did not stop the teams playing attacking rugby league, each team demonstrating excellent core skills, and running good lines with some big-hits in defence! With teachers, coaches and spectators duly entertained, a determined Longford side defeated Lampton in the second game 20 - 4 with two late scores securing victory.
In the final game it was winner takes all as Feltham faced Longford in the tournament decider. Feltham maintained a 100% record to take the title as Hounslow/Ealing Champions winning 26 - 0 looking like a team that could go far in the competition.
Harlequins RL Community Team organised the event and provided accurate officiating through Aran Quinn and Darren Pugsley, with time-keeping and presentations by Paul Dooley. Harlequins RL Talent ID will be selecting the best players to join one of their satellite clubs the Feltham Falcons.
Event organiser Paul Dooley announced during the presentation that each player will receive a pack containing a fantastic season ticket offer for Harlequins RL for an unbelievable discounted price, enabling each player to watch all 13 of Harlequins RL Super League games and watch the best rugby players in the country.
Hopefully the youngsters will be inspired so much that one day they may grace the hallowed Twickenham Stoop Turf for Harlequins. The pack also contained a flyer inviting them to play for Junior League club Feltham Falcons and the chance to meet the Harlequins first team and match day mascot by joining the Junior Quins Club.
The Harlequins RL Community Team would like to sincerely thank the coaches of each school on the day; James Lawson (Feltham CSC), Liam Moore (Longford) and Ryan Wilson (Lampton) for their support and efforts.
