Better known as Oztag in Australia, Tag Rugby dates back to 1992 and is a non-contact form of rugby league. Former St George Dragons halfback Perry Haddock founded the sport whilst coaching the 1992 Jersey Flegg side and it has since grown in popularity enormously. During its first season, 28 teams took part, today upwards of 50,000 play throughout Australia and the sport is spreading overseas.
Try Tag Rugby will be running a Monday night men's competition and a Wednesday night mixed competition to be held at Finsbury Park (North London), a Saturday afternoon men's and mixed competitions at Wormwood Scrubs (West London), and a Sunday afternoon mixed competition at Wandsworth Common (South London). Games are usually played over 40 minutes on a 70x50m pitch
