"I was more nervous making my Super League debut," said the 21-year-old from Ashford, Middlesex. "Playing rugby is my job and I have to do well, whereas this was just a dating game show.
"I think they asked Michael Witt originally and he said I'd do it. I was in Lanzarote at the time. They messaged me and asked if I'd be interested in doing the show. I said I'd give it a go.
"I had to go for an interview and the production team said they loved me so they picked me. It was good fun, they were a good group of lads and the girls were obviously pretty nice - it was just a good experience. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I thought I might as well give it a go."
"We had a dress rehearsal but you don't actually get to see the girls until you come down the lift for the live show."
He did pretty well, although the girl who was a rugby player wasn't interested. She played union and reckoned league was a bit too quick for her, she liked bashing into people!
Mikey ended up watching the programme last Saturday night alongside his team mates. So how tough was that? "I got bagged. Every little thing I did, the boys were getting into me; I was expecting it though. A few people said I came across OK, which was lucky, and I got a date so I enjoyed it."
