London Broncos Head Coach Rob Powell named Kieran Dixon in his starting line up for the third consecutive Super League game. With Liam Colbon back to full fitness it was Luke Dorn who made way as Michael Robertson shifted to full back.
Dixon has been in fine form since his promotion to the first team and gave the home crowd a glimpse of his talent when he collected a kick deep in his own 20 and skipped past two oncoming tackles before being brought to the ground.
Both teams grew into the game and a big tackle on the Huddersfield 20 presented the ball to Jamie O'Callaghan who forced his way close to the Giants try line. The ball was played quickly by the Broncos and captain Craig Gower made the short pass to Antonio Kaufusi who burst over the line with 11 minutes gone.
Broncos looked a changed outfit after last week's lackluster first half performance against Hull FC and had the majority of the early pressure but as the home side worked their way towards the line for the second try Michael Witt's pass out to the left was intercepted by Danny Brough. Brough showed the Broncos defense a clean set of heels as he set off up the field. Youngster Dixon made up a huge amount of ground but was turned inside and out by Brough before the Huddersfield man went over for the visitors opening try which he also converted.
The Claret and Golds made it two in quick succession when a loose pass was seized on by Leroy Cudjoe who found it all to easy as he shook off two Broncos tackles to go over. Brough converted.
Broncos came back at the Giants and Witt's cross-field kick was taken superbly by Dixon who grounded what he thought was his first Super League try only for the referee to pull the play back as his foot and gone into touch.
With half time looming Huddersfield enjoyed a good spell of possession in the Broncos half. Two sets of six failed to come to fruition but a penalty in the third set was converted by Brough to take the Giants into half time 16-6 in the lead.
It took just a minute in the second half for Huddersfield to extend their lead. Brough's kick took a generous bounce away from the covering Broncos players and Kevin Brown helped himself to the away side's third try of the afternoon.
A knock on after 52 minutes gave the Broncos their first try scoring chance of the second half. Robertson found a gap and made some good yards before the ball was played to Gower who again set up Kaufusi to smash over for his second try of the game.
The big Tongan is fast becoming a fans favourite down at the Stoop and he done his growing reputation no harm when a huge hit on Eorl Crabtree sent the big prop flying and the home fans to their feet.
Soon after though Huddersfield added another four points to the board when a cross-field kick from Brough was collected by Joe Wardle in the corner to touch down. After much discussion between the referee and line judge the try was awarded but Brough missed from out wide.
The Broncos weren't finished yet though and thought they had pegged back a try with 15 minutes to go when Craig Gower's cute grubber was touched down by Luke Dorn only for the referee to blow for offside.
Going into the last ten minutes Broncos continued to look for a way back into the game. Gower's loose tap pass was collect by Dorn who slung the ball out to O'Callaghan. It looked as though the local lad was covered but he managed to wriggle out of a tackle and dash down the wing to claim his first try of the season. Witt missed the conversion to leave the Broncos trailing 16-24.
Any thoughts of a come back were soon dashed however when Cudjoe bounced his way through two tackles to score in the corner. Brough converted with three minutes left to play.
The referee soon brought an end to the game with the scores 16-30 and left London Broncos still searching for that elusive first win of the season.
