The defensive display was in stark contrast to the generosity shown in the 50-14 Carngie Challenge Cup loss to Huddersfield Giants the previous week and Powell is hoping to carry that attitude into Sunday's encounter.
"We felt we were the more dominant team against Hull last week and defensively it was a very strong performance.
"We need to carry that in to the game on Sunday against Catalans who are a very challenging team with the ball."
The only change to last weekend's squad is the inclusion of Olsi Krasniqi at the expense of the injured David Howell.
Howell was included in the Broncos 19-man squad for the game against Hull FC but was forced out of the fixture with a rib injury.
He now joins Matt Cook on the sidelines who will require surgery for cruciate ligament damage sustained in the Challenge Cup loss to the Giants.
The Broncos are still without Liam Colbon who is recovering from a successful shoulder reconstruction, Jason Golden who remains absent with a sore neck and ribs and Julien Rinaldi who continues his recovery from ankle ligament damage.
Catalans head coach Trent Robinson has also made just one change from last weekend's squad.
Jean-Philippe Baile has come for young halfback William Barthau while David Ferriol, Greg Mounis, Damien Blanch, Daryl Millard, Frédéric Vaccari and Setaimata Sa all remain unavailable through injury.
London Broncos v Catalans Dragons kicks off at 12.00 noon at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium. You can catch all the action live on Sky Sports 3 HD.
