Alex Verissimo started playing rugby union at school aged 14 and instantly took a liking to the sport. Soon after he joined Old Colfeians RFC.

Verissimo began playing rugby league in the summer of 2011 and was part of a Greenwich Admirals side who were London Junior League Champions; only losing one game in the whole season. He was selected to represent South London in the 2011 Origin series. After his performances in Junior League and in the Origin Series he was selected to be a part of the U16 London Broncos Scholarship squad.

Away from rugby Verissimo enjoys athletics and listening to dub-step. His favourite film is Avatar and his favourite meal is spaghetti bolognese.
