Doncaster RLFC 16 - 30 London Broncos

London Broncos came from behind to defeat Doncaster after a physical match that saw the home team lead for much of the game.

The Broncos began with a solid defensive set, but Doncaster were awarded an early penalty, allowing them to build initial pressure. In attack, Dean Hawkins and Morea Morea combined, but were stopped by Doncaster’s defence.

Doncaster continued to build momentum through penalties and repeat sets and Edene Gebbie opened the scoring in the twelfth minute with a try in the corner, converted by Connor Robinson. A yellow card for Siliva Havili added to London’s difficulties, and Doncaster extended their lead with two penalty goals.

London reduced the deficit in the 27th minute following a sustained period of possession. After strong carries from the forwards, Hawkins broke through to score and then converted his own try.

The remainder of the first half featured a number of errors and territorial exchanges, with both sides using the kicking game. Doncaster maintained their lead going into the break.

Early in the second half, Gebbie went over for his second, with Connor Robinson converting. London responded by improving their field position, helped by Hawkins’ kicking game.

In the 68th minute, London scored through Reagan Campbell-Gillard after building pressure inside Doncaster’s half, with Hawkins converting. Shortly after, a kick was kept in play by Neil Tchamambe and collected by Morea, who scored. Hawkins again added the conversion to give London the lead.

Hawkins crossed over the line for a double, with another aerial try assist from Tchamambe, and later when Luke Smith collected a loose ball to score. Hawkins converted the additional tries.

Doncaster continued to create opportunities, including through their kicking game, but were unable to add further points. The match concluded with London holding their lead after a second-half turnaround.

London Broncos announce Double Header Fixture for May 10

The London Broncos will host a double header on May 10 at Cherry Red Records Stadium, featuring both the women’s and men’s teams in a celebration of rugby league, women in sport, and the club’s continued growth.

The London Broncos will host a double-header fixture on Sunday, 10 May, bringing together both the women’s and men’s teams for a showcase

day of rugby league at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

The action gets underway with London Broncos Women taking on Salford RLFC, before the men face Midlands Hurricanes in what promises to be a thrilling afternoon. The doubleheader highlights the continued growth of the club and offers fans the chance to support both squads in one action-packed event.

The women’s fixture presents another important step in the development of the Broncos Women’s programme, as they continue to build momentum and showcase their talent on home soil. Meanwhile, the men’s side will be looking to continue their strong performance against Midlands Hurricanes as they push forward towards the Championship.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to bring both our teams together on the same stage,” said Co-Owner Grant Wechsel. “The double header is important for the growth of rugby league in London and for building a strong connection between our players and supporters. We’re looking forward to a great atmosphere and two competitive matches.”

To mark the occasion, the London Broncos are celebrating the women in sport with a special Ladies Day. Fans can expect a lively matchday experience, with live entertainment and back-to-back rugby league action delivering intensity, skill, and excitement as both teams represent the Broncos on home turf.

Ben Hursey-Hord suffered a concussion in Saturday's Reserves match. He will go through the RFL's HIA protocol.

Will Lovell suffered a low-grade hamstring strain and we be sidelined for approximately four weeks.

Brandon Webster-Mansfield sustained an ankle injury in the Reserves match, and will be sidelined for the next few weeks.

Finley Glare sustained ligament tears, he is progressing well with his rehabilitation in the gym and is on track to return in June.

London Broncos 62 - 06 Keighley Cougars

London Broncos won their first round tie in the 1895 Cup, beating Keighley Cougars 62–6, running in 11 tries.

Before the match started, there was a guard of honour for Will Lovell, who was making his 203rd appearance for the club, passing legendary second-rower Steele Retchless. Will is now the most capped player for the London Broncos.

It took just under four minutes for London to open the scoring. Alex Max, who has missed more than two months with the injury he suffered in the Challenge Cup tie against Bradford Bulls, made an incisive burst and when a tackler approached him, he passed to Robert Mathias, who scored in the corner. Dean Hawkins took on the kicking duties with Jimmy Meadows on the interchange bench, but his kick drifted wide of the far post. It proved to be the only miss he would have in 10 attempts.

In the ninth minute, an error from Emmanuel Waine led to London’s second try, with Mathias setting up Gairo Voro.

Keighley responded in the 15th minute when Waine collected a chip kick from Connor Sayner and scored under the posts, allowing Izaac Farrell to convert.

Connor O’Beirne came on as an interchange and quickly scored London’s third try. A potential fourth was disallowed for a foot in touch, but Morea Morea soon added another with a 50-metre long run. A disallowed try for Lewis Bienek followed, before O’Beirne scored again late in the first half, helped by a possession advantage with a seven tackle set.

London extended their lead early in the second half with quick tries from Voro and Elliot Wallis. Marcus Stock added another from close range as Keighley.

In the 59th minute, London again attacked on the right and the ball went through many hands before Max ran into a gap and before any tacklers could react, he was touching down the ball.

London’s next foray into the defensive line saw a third try ruled out, and second for being held up in-goal. As it was a last-tackle play, the Cougars from their ten-metre line.

Max scored his second try in the 66th minute, after strong carries from starting prop forwards, Campbell-Gillard and Emarly Bitungane, who rampaged downfield for about 60 metres. After converting this score, Hawkins went off to be replaced by Meadows. He was soon called into kicking duties after Max set up Neil Tchamambe in the corner. Meadows’ kick kissed the outside of the right post.

The win sees the club move through to the Quarter Finals of the 1895 Cup.

Travelling by Train or Tube: The stadium is just a 5-minute walk (0.2 miles) from Richmond Station.

● National Rail (South Western Railway): Fast trains run from London Waterloo (approx. 15 – 20 minutes) and Clapham Junction.

● London Overground: Direct services run from North London/Stratford.

Please note, on Sunday there are major disruptions affecting travel to Richmond. There will be no District Line service between Earl's Court and Richmond and no Piccadilly Line service between Hyde Park Corner and Acton Town. There will be no Overground (Mildmay line) trains between Willesden Junction and Richmond, though a rail replacement bus (DL3) will run via Acton Central, South Acton, Turnham Green, Chiswick Park, Gunnersbury and Kew Gardens.

Walking Directions from the Station: Exit the station and turn right. Cross the A316 at the traffic lights, continue for about 50 yards and the entrance to the ground will be on your right.

Travelling by Bus: Numerous bus routes serve Richmond Station, including the 65, 190, 337, 371, 391, 419, and R68. From the station bus stops, it is a very short walk to the ground.

Parking: Unlike many London stadiums, the Richmond Athletic Ground does have on-site parking, though it can fill up quickly.

Home Fans/Away Fans:

Please may all fans enter through the main gate from 2:30pm, you will need your ticket with the barcode, which is going to be scanned as you enter. You can bring bags into the stadium but they will be checked by security/stewards upon entry.

Season ticket cards are not valid for this match.

Hospitality:

Please may all those attending the game in hospitality enter via the first bar entrance. Hospitality closes after half time.

Junior League Kick Off!

Great Turnout at U14 & U16 Pre-Season Nines - Elmbridge Eagles win both comps

Over 150 Junior Rugby League Players from 13 Teams at 8 different clubs across London & South-East took part in the traditional Pre-Season Nines for U14s and U16s on Saturday.

The U16 Nines was held at Elmbridge Eagles' new ground of St Mary's University in Twickenham. With six teams playing across 3 pitches, this was a great event, and included debut appearances from Feltham Falcons and South Bank Sharks, as well as the return of North Herts Crusaders and St Albans Centurions. The home team, Elmbridge Eagles proved to be the strongest, beating a good Brentwood Eels team into second place, with a combined Brixton/Feltham team coming third.

Meanwhile the U14s competition was taking place at Brixton Bulls home ground of Streatham & Croydon RFC. Seven teams meant lots of action, and included Clubs from as far afield as Eastern Rhinos in Colchester and St Albans Centurions. With Brentwood Eels and Brixton Bulls both entering two teams, Elmbridge Eagles also won the U14s competition, beating Eastern Rhinos in the Final, and Brixton Bulls Yellow edging out Brentwood Eels in the 3rd & 4th play-off.

We now look forward to the start of the Junior League proper next weekend, in what is shaping up to be a fantastic season!

London Schools in National Comp

Two South-East schools reach National Quarter-Finals!

Two schools from London & South-East reached the Quarter-Finals of the National Rugby League Champion Schools Competition in their respective age groups in one of the strongest performances yet from London Schools in the Competition.

In the Year 9 Competition, Dorothy Stringer from Brighton beat Standish School 28-20 to move into the last 8. Standish had travelled down from the North-West in order to play the match. Dorothy Stringer, who have been helped by ex London Broncos Reserve Team Coach Kieran Robertson, now face St Peter's from Wigan at Home in the Quarter-Final on 28th April, for a place in the National Semi-Final.

In the Year 7 Competition, John Fisher from Croydon, came within two wins of a place at Wembley for the Year 7 National Final. In the round of 16, John Fisher travelled to Oldham and beat Crompton House 38-14, helped by coaching from local Community Club, Brixton Bulls. This set up an Away match at Wigan in the Quarter-Final against undefeated defending Champions, St Peter's, who ran out 30-4 winners.

Elsewhere, Teddington School from South-West London, lost a tight match. 18-8, in the Year 8 Round of 16, playing Away to Bedford High School in Leigh. St James' Boys, from Ashford in Surrey, lost both the Year 10 and Year 11 matches at the same stage. In the Year 10 competition St James travelled to West Yorkshire to face Ryburn Valley School and went down 24-0. In the Year 11 competition, St James hosted Bridgewater High School from Warrington, but were beaten 16-0.

Large numbers of Junior Boys & Girls benefit from London Broncos Training

Nearly 150 Junior Rugby League Players across London enjoyed high quality training sessions from London Broncos professional coaches during the Easter holidays, with the help of new London Broncos Talent Pathway Partner, Smartway Pharmaceutical.

The Boys and Girls from U12s to U16s, took part in two sessions, at Brixton Bulls in the South of London and St Albans Centurions in the North of London, which form the first steps on the London Broncos Talent Pathway.

This means over 300 players have already signed up for the London Broncos Talent Pathway sessions which have taken place in February and April, showing the health of Junior Rugby League in London & the South-East, and the high levels of interest in the London Broncos Talent Pathway.

The next sessions in May half-term will step things up a level, as they will involve Matchplay Festivals at the London Broncos Training Centre in Hazelwood. These sessions will be Open to All and Bookings will open shortly.

Broncos Women Secure Impressive Cup Win Over Leigh

London’s strong defence and effective game management proved decisive as they overcame Super League opposition Leigh 20–8 in their opening fixture of the Challenge Cup, continuing their winning start to the season.

London Broncos Women produced an impressive performance to defeat top-tier Leigh in Round 1 of the Challenge Cup group stage. In a three-team group also featuring Leeds, the result ensures London’s progression to the quarter-finals ahead of next weekend’s meeting, where a win would secure a home tie.

Played in difficult conditions with a strong wind affecting handling and territory, London led just 4–0 at the break after a tense first half. However, they took control in the second period, converting pressure into points while maintaining defensive discipline against higher-league opposition.

A tight opening saw both sides testing each other, with errors creeping in due to the conditions. London’s defence was called upon early, holding Leigh up over the line and producing repeated goal-line stands. The breakthrough came when Treco sparked momentum with a break, allowing Smart to crash over for the game’s first try, though the conversion was missed. That score remained the difference at half-time.

Leigh responded early in the second half to level at 4–4, but London quickly regained the initiative. Smart capitalised on a mismatch from a scrum to grab her second try, before D’Halluin added another as the Broncos began to turn pressure into points. Barber then powered her way over on the right edge to extend the lead to 16–4.

Despite Leigh pulling a try back to make it 16–8, London remained composed. Strong kicking pinned the visitors deep in their own half, while aggressive defence continued to limit opportunities. In the closing stages, D’Halluin crossed for her second try of the match to seal a deserved 20–8 victory.

Overall, London’s defensive resilience and clinical finishing against Super League opposition underlined the strength of their performance, setting them up well for a challenging clash against Leeds next weekend.

London Broncos maintained their unbeaten start to the Betfred Championship campaign with an eight-try result against Sheffield Eagles. London scored two tries within the first four minutes.

The match also marked Will Lovell’s 202nd appearance for the club, equalling the record previously set by Steele Retchless.

London opened the scoring in the first minute when Reagan Campbell-Gillard passed to Morea Morea, who broke forward. Dean Hawkins supported the play, collected the pass and scored under the posts. Jimmy Meadows converted.

From the restart, Sheffield conceded a penalty. From the resulting possession, London advanced and Morea Morea scored near the right corner before moving closer to the posts to ground the ball. Meadows converted.

Sheffield attempted to score after approximately eight minutes following a penalty, but the referee ruled the final play was held short of the try line.

In the 16th minute, Sheffield conceded a penalty for an illegal ball steal on the fifth tackle, giving London a new set of six. On the final play, the ball was moved to the right wing, where Liam Tindall scored in the corner. Meadows’ conversion attempt was unsuccessful due to wind conditions.

Sheffield’s defensive sets resulted in tackles close to their own line, and their possessions often ended with kicks from within their own half. In the 31st minute, Epel Kapinias scored from close range near the posts. Meadows converted.

After handling errors limited further scoring opportunities, London added another try just before half-time. Brandon Webster-Mansfield, acting from dummy half, shaped to pass and then ran to the right to score near the corner. Meadows’ conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

At the start of the second half, Sheffield made a handling error inside their own 30-metre area. From the resulting scrum, Morea Morea scored his second try after receiving a pass from Elliott Wallis and grounding the ball. Meadows converted from near the touchline.

Sheffield advanced towards the London try line following two penalties, but a misplaced pass resulted in a loss of ground, and Ryan Millar was tackled two metres short on the final tackle.

London’s next possession ended with Kapinias scoring from approximately 15 metres out. Meadows converted.

In the 54th minute, Sheffield scored when Joe Brown passed to Billy Walkley, who grounded the ball near the corner post. Kai Morgan’s conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

Later, Ben Hursey-Hord charged down a kick from Morgan and regained possession near Sheffield’s 10-metre line. Following a penalty, Gairo Voro carried the ball and scored after moving past defenders. With Meadows off the field, Morea Morea took the conversion and was successful.

In the closing stages, both teams made handling errors inside the Sheffield half. A penalty awarded to London approximately 10 metres from the Sheffield line led to a kick at goal, which was successful as play ended.

Travel

Public Transport: Travelling by train, you can get to either Earlsfield (approx. 12 minutes from London Waterloo) or Wimbledon (approx. 16 minutes from London Waterloo) station, both of which are walkable to the stadium (17 minutes/0.8 miles from Earlsfield, 29 minutes/1.4 miles from Wimbledon). You can also take a taxi/Uber from either station, which will take around 5 minutes.

Alternatively, you can travel to Tooting Broadway station on the London Underground Northern Line and either take the 493 bus directly to the stadium (stops near Plough Lane/Gap Road) or it's a 15-minute walk.

Please note, the District Line from Edgware Road and Embankment to Wimbledon is not in operation.

Parking: Unfortunately, there is no parking available at the stadium. Should you require parking, we advise you look at street parking via the RingGo app.

There will be a drop off/pick up zone outside the main stand which has a waiting area while waiting for a companion/PA to park and return.

London Broncos Announce Smartway Pharmaceuticals as Offical Healthcare Partner in Major Three-Year Partnership

Rooted in Smartway Pharmaceuticals’ purpose of transforming lives through access, the partnership will go beyond performance to open rugby league pathways across London, with a clear focus on increasing participation and opportunity for young athletes.

The London Broncos and Smartway Pharmaceuticals announce a major three-year partnership that will see Smartway become the club’s official Healthcare Partner and naming rights partner of the Junior Girls Talent Pathways programme.

Smartway Pharmaceuticals is a major independent pharmaceutical business, supplying medicines to hospitals, pharmacies, and healthcare providers across the country and internationally. The company is headquartered in South Wimbledon, less than two miles from the club’s home ground at Cherry Red Records Stadium. For Smartway, the partnership represents a deliberate investment in community health and grassroots sport, consistent with the company’s wider purpose of improving access to healthcare.

The three-year agreement is centred on the London Broncos’ Talent Pathway programmes, which support the identification and development of over 450 young athletes across London each year. Smartway will hold naming rights to the Junior Girls Talent Pathway, a programme providing girls aged 12 to 19 with elite training competition, and a clear route into the professional game through the club’s NextGenRL programme, which enables players aged 17 to 19 to train alongside London Broncos Women.

The partnership also supports the Boys Talent Pathway, which delivers four blocks of elite training camps annually for approximately 180 players aged from U12 to U16. The club’s foundation programme reaches underserved young people through school visits and half-term camps, with sessions engaging up to 250 children at a time.

Smartway branding will appear on the top back of both the men’s and women’s first team playing kits. The club has committed a club-record investment in its women’s programme this season, and Smartway’s decision to place its brand across both

programmes reflect a commitment to the whole club.

The partnership also encompasses matchday hospitality, digital content, and a range of further commercial and community activities across both the men’s and women’s programmes, the details of which will be announced during the season.

Smartway will support the club’s medical and community programmes with its healthcare expertise. The club’s medical team, including the club doctor and physiotherapist, will work alongside Smartway pharmacists on a series of public health and educational campaigns throughout the season, combining sports medicine with healthcare knowledge to deliver health-focused content to the club’s fan base and wider community. The club’s medical communications will carry Smartway Pharmaceuticals branding, and medical staff will wear Smartway-branded apparel on matchdays.

The partnership includes a dedicated community ticket programme at every home fixture, managed by London Broncos as part of the club’s community programme, providing free access to rugby league for local charities, NHS staff and recognised community groups across London .

Broncos Start Campaign Strong with Victory Over Cardiff Demons

London’s efficiency and determined defence in key moments outweighed Cardiff’s second-half fightback in a Round 1 victory at Home for the Broncos.

London Broncos Women opened their Women’s National Championship campaign with a deserved 26–14 victory over Cardiff Demons at the Hazelwood Centre, combining clinical finishing with resilient defence. A dominant first half saw the Broncos lead 14–0 at the break through tries from Treco, Hughes and Kennedy, before Cardiff closed the gap to 14–8 early in the second half. London responded with further scores from Kennedy and McCusker to extend their lead to 26–8, and despite a late Cardiff try, the Broncos’ defence held firm to secure the win.

The performance showcased a promising blend of returning experience and new faces, with a squad rich in international pedigree. With several players still to feature, including 2026 Gladiators Champion Emily Bell, there are clear signs of depth for the season ahead.

Played in difficult conditions, with strong winds and intermittent showers, both sides still produced moments of real quality. The fixture also marked the Broncos’ first outing at their new home, where a well-prepared pitch and modern facilities were enjoyed by supporters, offering plenty of promise for a strong atmosphere in the summer months.

On the sidelines, new assistant coach Matt Bayliss, Head Coach of the Royal Navy Rugby League Women's Team, joined Head Coach Colin Baker. Several Royal Navy players featured in the Broncos line-up, highlighting a growing and productive relationship within the women’s game.

The hosts started brightly and opened the scoring when Treco powered over under the posts, with Salter converting for an early 6–0 lead. London continued to press and, after sustained pressure, Hughes crossed following a strong run involving debutante Redfern, though the conversion was missed. The Broncos’ defensive line then proved crucial, repeatedly denying Cardiff with strong goal-line stands before Kennedy broke through just before half-time to extend the lead to 14–0.

Cardiff responded with intent after the break, exploiting space to score two quick tries and reduce the deficit to 14–8. However, London answered decisively, as Mullen’s clever kick was gathered superbly by Kennedy for her second try, before McCusker stretched over to cap another attacking spell, with Salter converting both to make it 26–8. Cardiff added a late converted try, but the Broncos remained in control, with key defensive interventions, including a try-saving tackle from Titcombe and another from Salter, ensuring the visitors could not mount a comeback. A late yellow card further dented Cardiff’s efforts.

Overall, London’s blend of attacking sharpness and defensive resilience proved decisive, with Tamsin Barber’s outstanding all-round display earning Player of the Match honours.

London Broncos recorded their seventh win from seven in the Betfred Championship with a 40–12 result against Batley Bulldogs. The match was played in cool, windy and rainy conditions, which affected kicking and ball handling.

Early in the game, Jimmy Meadows’ kick on the last tackle bounced dead in goal. Batley responded with a kick from Ben Reynolds that went out on the full. From the resulting possession, Brandon Webster-Mansfield carried the ball down the right side and passed to Liam Tindall, who scored in the corner. Meadows’ conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

From the restart, London allowed Robbie Butterworth’s angled kick to find touch close to the corner flag. Batley gained possession approximately 10 metres from the London try line. Late in the set, Reynolds kicked ahead and the ball made contact with the heel of Gairo Voro. Morea Morea attempted to gather the ball before Jack Hudson grounded it for a try, which Reynolds converted to give Batley the lead.

Jack Croft and Elliot Wallis were prevented from scoring by tackles close to the try line. In the 17th minute, Webster-Mansfield broke the defensive line and passed to Luke Smith, who moved towards the posts and scored. Meadows converted the try.

In his 100th appearance for the club, Sam Davis made a run from dummy half but was tackled short of the try line.

In the 24th minute, a Reynolds kick was contested by Morea and Ben White. White reached the ball first but knocked it dead in goal, resulting in a seven-tackle set for London from the 20-metre line. During this possession, Siliva Havili and Meadows combined to create an overlap, allowing Smith to score his second try. Meadows converted.

From the restart, London advanced approximately 80 metres. Lewis Bienek made a carry of about 30 metres early in the set. The ball was moved across the field and Meadows ran through the defensive line to score near the posts. In the 34th minute, Meadows scored again following a short pass from Voro.

Batley applied attacking pressure late in the first half, assisted by a repeat set, goal-line drop-out and London handling errors. Replacement hooker Alistair Leak scored from close range, and Reynolds converted, bringing the half-time score to 28–12.

In the 46th minute, from a scrum, Meadows passed left to Neil Tchamambe, who remained in the field of play and grounded the ball in the corner. A similar play shortly afterwards resulted in Voro being forced into touch near the corner.

In the second half, both teams experienced handling errors. A long pass from Meadows towards Tindall was not completed. Tindall later made a break down the right side and passed to Smith, but the ball travelled forward.

Batley forced goal-line drop-outs during the second half but did not score further points. In defence, Batley disrupted passing plays, resulting in additional sets for London.

In the 74th minute, from a scrum 10 metres from the Batley line, London moved the ball to the right and Meadows passed to Tindall, who scored in the corner for his second try.

Later in the match, Marcus Stock scored after receiving a pass from Meadows approximately 10 metres from the try line. The conversion was successful, bringing Meadows’ personal total to 16 points.

London Broncos made it six wins in six Betfred Championship matches with a 12-try performance against Salford RLFC. The team included the return of Jimmy Meadows, Connor O’Beirne and Reagan Campbell-Gillard, who had missed recent matches.

The game began with Elliot Wallis knocking on close to the halfway line. From the resulting possession and field position, Salford opened the scoring when Cole Appleby grounded the ball over the try line following a forward run. Toby Hughes converted from near the posts.

Both teams conceded possession in the early stages and, in the eighth minute, Salford lost the ball inside their own half through Brad Dwyer. From the resulting set, London moved the ball left and Wallis scored in the corner. Meadows’ conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

London’s defensive pressure forced a fifth-tackle kick attempt from Hughes, which was collected by Alex Walker. The subsequent possession ended with Liam Tindall scoring in the right corner following passes involving Sam Davis, Meadows and Walker.

Will Lovell’s tackle near the Salford 20 led to a knock-on, giving London possession from a scrum. Walker passed left from the base of the scrum and Meadows passed to Neil Tchamambe, who scored on the wing.

After 30 minutes, Joe Hartley intercepted a pass intended for Tindall 10 metres from the Salford line and carried the ball towards the London try line. Jeremiah Simbiken and Epel Kapinias stopped the run, and Salford’s kick at the end of the set went beyond the in-goal area, giving London a seven-tackle set from the 20-metre line. The possession ended with O’Beirne scoring close to the posts.

London’s fifth try of the half came in the final possession before half-time, when Lewis Bienek scored from 10 metres. Meadows converted, bringing the half-time score to 28–6.

Salford’s first possession of the second half ended with Hughes’ kick on the final tackle going out on the full, giving London possession 30 metres from the Salford line. O’Beirne scored at the end of the set, with the try awarded after grounding was confirmed.

Ten minutes into the second half, London conceded three penalties, a set restart, a goal-line drop-out and a repeat set following a blocked kick. Salford did not score during this period, with the final pass of the sequence going into touch. A later penalty gave Salford another attacking opportunity, but a pass intended for Hartley also went into touch.

As the second half progressed, London added further tries. In the 56th minute, Kapinias scored from 10 metres after receiving a pass from Walker. Five minutes later, Kapinias scored again from close range.

Walker scored after 64 minutes following a 20-metre run. Kapinias completed his third try after a passing move involving Simbiken.

Tchamambe scored his second try following another scrum move, receiving a pass from Meadows before scoring near the left corner. Meadows missed the conversion attempt.

In the final minute, Luke Smith scored after a 40-metre run down the right side. O’Beirne attempted the conversion but was unsuccessful.

Nicole Kennedy to Join Leeds Rhinos on Dual-Registration

London Broncos are proud to see Australian-born centre Nicole Kennedy take the next step in her Rugby League journey, joining Leeds Rhinos on dual-registration for the 2026 season.

Since joining the Broncos in 2022, the 25-year-old has become a key figure in the team, finishing 2025 as top try scorer and Player of the Year. She will combine training with both clubs while continuing her career as a Paramedic in London.

Broncos head coach Colin Baker paid tribute to Kennedy’s impact on and off the field:
“I was speaking to Nicole before she arrived in the UK about coming over to play, so I feel like I have known her for years.
She has been a great servant for London Broncos Women, I cannot speak highly enough of her as a person and player. Whilst we are sad to lose her, she has earned her opportunity to play regularly at the top level.
We all wish her well, and personally I would like to thank her for what she has brought to Broncos Women, on and off the field.”

Kennedy, who has also represented the Netherlands on the international stage, reflected on her journey and the decision to move north:
“I moved to London when I was 21 for work and joined the Broncos in 2022. I love it there, they are like my family, so I guess the move to come to Leeds was a big decision for me.
I am looking forward to testing myself in an intense environment with players who have played in Super League, and to give myself the best chance to play at that next step up.”

London Broncos Secure Broadcast Partnership with PNG NBC for Pacific Region

Agreement expands the club’s reach across Papua New Guinea and the Pacific, bringing live coverage of remaining 2026 home fixtures to millions of fans

The London Broncos are pleased to announce that the club has secured a new broadcast partnership with the National Broadcasting Corporation of Papua New Guinea (PNG NBC), which will see all remaining London Broncos home matches in the 2026 season broadcast across Papua New Guinea and selected Pacific Island markets.

Under the agreement, PNG NBC will televise all remaining home fixtures live on NBC Channel 1 in Papua New Guinea, alongside a simulcast on NBC Radio, and coverage across its digital platforms.

This partnership significantly expands the London Broncos’ international reach, connecting the club with millions of rugby league fans across PNG and the Pacific.

Supporters across the Pacific will be able to follow the Broncos’ home campaign closely, and watch PNG stars Morea Morea, Gairo Voro, Finley Glare, Epel Kapinias, Alex Max, Robert Mathias, and Jeremiah Simbiken in action.

Jimmy Meadows and Connor O'Beirne are continuing their concussion return-to-play protocols.

Morea Morea is carrying a hip flexor injury. He is recovering well and is expected to return in a few weeks.

Finley Glare sustained ligament tears and will be sidelined for approximately three months.

Sid Adebiyi sustained a hamstring injury and will be sidelined for approximately six weeks.

Dean Hawkins and Reagan Campbell-Gillard are carrying calf injuries and are expected to return in the next couple of weeks.

Alex Max is recovering from a chest injury and is expected to return in approximately three to four weeks.

Rob Mathias sustained a PCL and meniscus injury, he is undergoing rehabilitation, and is expected to return in April.

London Broncos secured a win over Barrow Raiders at the Richmond Athletic Ground to set up a home round-of-16 tie against Keighley Cougars next month. Cold, windy and later wet conditions contributed to a game marked by frequent handling errors from both teams.

London opened the scoring in the third minute after forcing an error from Barrow’s first possession. Epel Kapinias broke through defenders to score near the posts, and Gario Voro converted. Voro finished the match with six successful conversions.

Barrow responded with pressure in London’s territory and scored in the 13th minute when Tee Ritson crossed in the left corner. Brad Walker’s conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

As Barrow targeted London’s right edge, a pass was intercepted by Liam Tindall in the 24th minute, who ran the length of the field to score between the posts. Six minutes later, Elliot Wallis extended the lead with an 80-metre run that broke several tackles.

London led 18–4 at halftime. After defending early second-half pressure, they added three further tries: Brandon Webster-Mansfield broke the defensive line to score in the 46th minute, Marcus Stock followed with a short-range effort, and Lewis Bienek crossed while holding off multiple defenders.

Skipper Will Lovell marked his 200th club appearance with a man-of-the-match performance, playing the full 80 minutes. Jeremiah Simbiken, making his London debut from the bench, prevented a Barrow try in the 55th minute with a one-on-one tackle on Curtis Teare near the try line.

Barrow applied sustained pressure in the final ten minutes, helped by several penalties and repeat sets, and eventually scored again when Ritson crossed in the corner in the 78th minute. Walker converted, but the result was already decided.

Walking Directions from the Station: Exit the station and turn right. Cross the A316 at the traffic lights, continue for about 50 yards and the entrance to the ground will be on your right.

Travelling by Bus: Numerous bus routes serve Richmond Station, including the 65, 190, 337, 371, 391, 419, and R68. From the station bus stops, it is a very short walk to the ground.

Parking: Unlike many London stadiums, the Richmond Athletic Ground does have on-site parking, though it can fill up quickly.

London Broncos produced a disciplined performance on the road to secure a 42–4 victory over Halifax Panthers at The Shay on Sunday afternoon.

Halifax began the match strongly and asked early questions of the Broncos defence, with the home side looking to build pressure through physical carries and controlled kicking. London were forced to defend several early sets inside their own half but the defensive line held firm.

The Panthers came close to opening the scoring during the opening exchanges when a kick through the line lead to a last ditch tackle from Tchamambe to hold off the attack before Halifax could ground the ball beyond the tryline.

London gradually worked their way into the contest and opened the scoring when Jack Croft finished a well-worked attacking move to give the Broncos the early advantage. Meadows added the conversion to extend the lead and settle the visitors.

Halifax continued to compete strongly and again threatened midway through the half when a break down the right edge brought them close to the London try line, but determined cover defence forced the attack into touch just short of the corner.

The Broncos responded well and doubled their lead when Liam Tindall crossed following a sharp attacking movement out wide.

Halifax nearly got points on the board after a kick towards the corner caused problems for the Broncos defence but a double movement from Moy stopped the scoring opportunity allowing London to regroup and head into half time with their lead intact. This period of attack from Panthers could have caused London problems if not for two more errors on the try line denying the home side any points in the first half.

Sustained pressure in Halifax territory then brought further reward for London with Finley Glare finishing strongly to score.

Disruptions before the interval saw both O’Beirne and Jimmy Meadows forced from the field for head injury assessments but Broncos responded well as Gairo Voro crossed the line to extend the lead, with Jack Croft adding the extras to ensure London went into the break firmly in control at 0–22.

Despite the moments of pressure, the Broncos went into the interval with a deserved advantage after a solid opening forty minutes.

The Panthers continued to work hard and were eventually rewarded for their persistence when they found a way through for their only try of the afternoon shortly after the break from Lindsey.

Halifax again threatened briefly soon after, forcing a repeat set close to the London line, but the Broncos defence stood up well under pressure and managed to force an error.

London continued to build pressure and added further tries as the half progressed. Morea Morea finished off a strong attacking set to increase the Broncos’ lead at 52 minutes.

Momentum continued to swing London’s way and Brandon Webster-Mansfield crossed for another well-taken try as the visitors maintained their attacking intensity. Both tries without successful conversion.

Glare soon added his second try of the afternoon as London capitalised on another attacking opportunity with Voro completing his first of two successful conversions of the afternoon.

The Broncos rounded off the afternoon when Epel Kapinias added the final try of the match in the closing stages after an incredible offload from Ted Davidson, putting the finishing touches on a strong team performance away from home.

Conversions from Jimmy Meadows, Jack Croft, and Gairo Voro ensured London steadily extended their lead throughout the afternoon.

Halifax deserve credit for their effort and attacking intent throughout the match, creating several opportunities that tested the Broncos defence but London’s composure with the ball and resilience in defence ultimately proved decisive.

London Broncos 106 - 18 North Wales Crusaders

London Broncos defeated North Wales Crusaders, setting multiple club records: highest score (106), biggest league win (106–18, 88 points, also the club record margin), most individual points (Jimmy Meadows, 42), most tries (18) and most goals kicked (17). Greg Eden scored a hat-trick for the Crusaders. North Wales were unable to contain London’s attack and found it difficult to make progress in possession.

A repeat set on London’s second possession led to the opening try, with Epel Kapinias scoring from close range. Jimmy Meadows converted, as he did with all but the seventh try of the match.

London’s defensive pressure limited North Wales’ kicking options, resulting in favourable field position for the Broncos. Meadows followed with a 10-metre solo try. From the restart, London moved the ball the length of the field, with Morea Morea making the initial break before Jack Croft finished the move.

In the 15th minute, a North Wales kick from inside the London half was collected by Neil Tchamambe, who ran 50 metres before passing inside to Gairo Voro to score. Three minutes later, Tchamambe scored after collecting a loose long pass before it crossed the dead-ball line.

The first quarter concluded with a sixth try, scored by Morea after an exchange of passes with Brandon Webster-Mansfield. London’s next try, Voro’s second, followed a passage in which the ball appeared to deflect off Kapinias before reaching Meadows, who assisted. Meadows’ only missed conversion rebounded off the upright. Morea added his second try soon after with a 40-metre run.

In the 27th minute, London made a handling error on their own 40-metre line. Greg Eden gathered the loose ball and ran in to score, adding the conversion.

Finley Glare, on as a replacement for Sam Davis, scored twice in quick succession, first from a Morea break and then from dummy half following a 20-metre run.

London’s first try of the second half followed a missed touch from a North Wales penalty. Morea collected the ball 10 metres inside his own half, ran laterally across field before passing to Tchamambe, who finished in the left corner.

North Wales’ restart did not travel 10 metres, leading to a Meadows penalty kick to the 30-metre line. After a run from Sadiq Adebiyi, Emarly Bitungane scored. Morea later completed his hat-trick after a break through the defence.

Ben Hursey-Hord scored from a last-tackle pass by Meadows. He then made a break to set up Voro, who passed to Jack Smith, with the second-rower grounding the ball despite defensive pressure.

North Wales had a period of possession but did not score, with Joe Baldwin held up over the line and Chris Barrett losing the ball in a tackle. A subsequent kick was fielded by Meadows, initiating a move that ended with Liam Tindall scoring in the right corner. Shortly after, Meadows scored following a 35-metre run, and his conversion brought his personal total to 40 points and the team total to 100.

Tindall later had a try disallowed for an incorrect grounding. In the 73rd minute, Glare broke clear but passed to Adebiyi to score.

North Wales scored the final two tries of the match. First, Greg Eden capitalised on a dropped ball near the London line following a grubber kick by Junior Westwood, who converted. Eden then completed his hat-trick after intercepting a pass, with Westwood adding the final conversion.

Record Numbers at Broncos Juniors Training - Bookings Now Open for April Sessions!

Nearly 170 players signed up for the London Broncos Development Training Sessions for U12 to U16 Boys & Girls during February half-term, and the feedback from the sessions was very positive, as the players took their first steps on the London Broncos Talent Pathway.

The sessions were lead by Colin Baker, Head Coach of the London Broncos Talent Pathway and London Broncos Women, supported by a team of professional London Broncos Coaches. The players also had the benefit of top quality tips from London Broncos players James Meadows, Emarly Bitungane, Luke Smith and Ted Davidson.

Bookings are now open for the next sessions, during the Easter Holidays. These sessions will focus on core rugby skills so will be great for all rugby players, and will also will be a fantastic way of preparing for the new rugby league season.

All sessions are Open to All, and we expect them to sell out, so please book your place as soon as possible using the links below. The Boys sessions cost only £6 and the Girls Sessions are FREE!

Swinton Lions 06 - 84 London Broncos

London Broncos travelled to Heywood Road for their first away trip of the Championship season.

Swinton opened the scoring after a minute’s silence, with Tom Ratchford going under the posts following a fast-flowing move. Briers added the conversion for a 6–0 lead after two minutes. The Lions forced a turnover 15 metres out on the following set, while the Broncos conceded a penalty for offside on their next possession.

An incident of a late hit was placed on report, and Kapinias was denied a try after losing the ball against the post while grounding it within the opening 10 minutes. On 13 minutes, repeated sets allowed Jimmy Meadows to score and convert, levelling the game.

At 21 minutes, Morea Morea touched down out wide following a penalty and attacking play, though Meadows missed the touchline conversio. Swinton then had back-to-back penalties for offside, but London’s defence held up the Lions over the line.

At 30 minutes, Morea Morea broke 45 metres following support from Voro and Tindall, with Meadows converting. From the resulting penalty, Glare scored unopposed and Meadows added the conversion.

Morea scored his third try of the match at 37 minutes following a kick in behind from Glare. Luke Smith extended the lead just before half-time, converted by Meadows.

The second half saw London extend their lead further. Liam Tindall scored following a break, with Meadows converting. Tindall then released Morea Morea for his fourth try of the match, converted by Meadows. Wallis and Tchamambe combined for another try at 46 minutes, with conversion.

Brandon Webster-Mansfield finished a long break out wide, Meadows missing the conversion. Following a knock-on from Neil Tchamambe, he carried 50 metres in the next set before Webster-Mansfield scored off a Morea pass, converted by Meadows.

Morea then scored his fifth try following a break from Davis, with conversion.

In the closing stages, Kapinias scored under the posts, converted by Meadows. Jack Croft crossed late out wide, with conversion, before Glare added another score.

Yellow cards were issued to Kapinias and Roby late in the game.

London Triallists for England Community Lions Announced

60 Players to take part in London Trials for U16s & U17s England Community Lions next week

The London Broncos Foundation are pleased to announce the 60 players who will be taking part in the London & South-East Trial for the U16 and U17 England Community Lions for 2026 at Brentwood next Saturday, 28 ^th February. Congratulations to all the players involved. Their selection is a major achievement and is based on their strong performances in the London Junior League, the Origin Series and/or the London U16s last year.

Process for Selection for England Community Lions

The England Community Lions is for all players from Community Rugby League Clubs, who are not taking part in a Super League Scholarship (U15/16) or Academy (U17/18) Programme.

The London & South-East Trial is one of several trials taking part across the Country at U16s & U17s led by England Community Lions Coaches, who will determine selection for the England Community Lions Squads.

Following this Trial, some players may be selected to take part in the “England Trial Game” in St Helens in March, alongside players who have been selected from the other Regional Trials. The final squads for the England Community Lions will be selected after the England Trial Game.

After an excellent London Junior League Season, Origin Series and London U16s Performances last year, we believe the standard of the London players is high, and wish them all the best in the trials.

The U16 England Community Lions will play in a Home Nations Tournament against Ireland, Scotland and Wales and the U17 England Community Lions will play two matches against France, both during the summer of 2026.

London Broncos Women Announce Leadership Group for 2026 Season

London Broncos Women are proud to unveil their leadership group for the 2026 season as head coach Colin Baker announced the three players taking up the mantle:

Vice Captain – Emily Hughes
Club Captain – Polly Roberts

With a blend of international experience, composure, and passion for the badge, the trio will guide the Broncos both on and off the field as the squad builds towards an exciting new campaign.

Team Captain – Kathryn Salter

Kathryn Salter takes on the captaincy ahead of her fourth season with the club, bringing with her six years of rugby league experience and international honours with Wales Rugby League. A calm and composed presence, Kathryn has become a central figure within the Broncos’ lineup. Her ability to control the game, make smart decisions under pressure, and lead by example in both attack and defence makes her a natural leader within the squad. Consistently setting the standard at training and on matchday, she embodies the professionalism and resilience that define London Broncos Women. Her appointment reflects the respect she commands across the team and the trust placed in her to lead the group in 2026.

Vice Captain – Emily Hughes

Joining Kathryn in the leadership group is fellow Welsh international Emily Hughes, who has been named Vice Captain. An experienced Broncos player, Emily brings energy, reliability, and a strong voice to the squad. Her commitment to the team and willingness to lead from the front make her a vital support to Kathryn and an important figure for teammates across the club. With her experience and competitive edge, Emily will play a key role in driving standards and supporting the squad throughout the season.

Club Captain – Polly Roberts

Polly Roberts steps into the role of Club Captain ahead of her third season with the Broncos. With three years of rugby league experience and international representation with Ireland Rugby League, Polly has established herself as one of the team’s most vocal and tireless leaders at hooker. Her tenacity and skill set the tone on the field, while her passion for building culture and connection strengthens the squad off it. As Club Captain, Polly will continue to champion team values, support player development, and help foster the inclusive, driven environment that underpins the Broncos’ identity.

With a strong leadership group in place, London Broncos Women head into 2026 united, ambitious, and ready to build on last season’s progress. 1895 Cup Preliminary and Round One Draw Announced

Tickets on sale London Broncos vs Barrow Raiders in Preliminary Round of 1895 Cup

The 1895 Cup kicked off on Sunday (15 February) evening with the draws conducted live on BBC Radio Leeds.

Three ties were drawn to produce the Preliminary Round, with the remaining Betfred Championship clubs progressing to Round One, producing eight ties in total.

The Barrow Raiders will travel to London on the 15th of March.

The match will be played at Richmond Athletic Ground with a 3pm kickoff.

If successful, the London Broncos will take on the Keighley Cougars in Round One on the weekend of April 18/19 at home.

1895 Cup Format Confirmed for 2026

Former England star Luke Gale will join broadcaster James Deighton for the 1895 Cup Preliminary and Round One draw on Sunday (15 February), live on BBC Radio Leeds from 5.40pm.

The competition returns for 2026 with a new format featuring 19 Betfred Championship clubs.

In Sunday’s draw, six balls will be drawn first to create three Preliminary Round ties. After that, the remaining teams, plus the three sides still in the Challenge Cup and the winners of the Preliminary Round ties, will be drawn to create the eight Round One matches.

Preliminary Round fixtures will be played on the weekend of March 14/15 with Round One scheduled to take place on April 18/19.

The Final of the 1895 Cup will be played on Monday, 31 August, with the venue to be confirmed.

Injury Report: Challenge Cup Round Three

In Sunday’s Challenge Cup fixture against the Bradford Bulls, five players were unable to finish the match due to injury.

Jack Croft failed his Head Injury Assessment and did not return to the field. He will go through the RFL's HIA protocol.

Dean Hawkins, Reagan Campbell-Gillard, and Lewis Bienek suffered a calf injuries, the Club is awaiting scan results to determine their time on the sideline.

Alex Max sustained a chest injury, he is out of hospital, and will return in approximately five weeks.

Match Report: Bradford Bulls

London Broncos 08 - 26 Bradford Bulls

London Broncos were eliminated from the Challenge Cup following a loss against the Bradford Bulls.

London went into the half-time break with a lead, but were affected by a series of injuries that reduced their interchange options and left them playing for an extended period with 12 men.

By the 25th minute, Jack Croft, Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Louis Bienek had left the field, followed at half time by Dean Hawkins. With no players remaining on the interchange bench, London were unable to replace Alex Max when he was assisted off early in the second half. Several players were required to play out of their usual positions as a result.

London created the first opportunity of the match, forcing an error from Bradford on their opening set and earning a repeat set, though the Bulls’ defence prevented a score. Hawkins’ kick on the last tackle drifted out on the full.

Bradford capitalised on their first attacking opportunity in London territory, with former Broncos players Andy Ackers and Joe Keyes combining to release Caleb Aekins, who passed to Jayden Okunbor to score in the corner. Rowan Milnes was unsuccessful with the conversion.

In the 15th minute, London regained possession after a Bradford error, but a pass from Morea Morea to Liam Tindall went to ground. Bradford countered, with Aekins making a long break before Hawkins completed a try-saving tackle on Ethan Ryan.

A third Bradford penalty allowed London to take possession on halfway. Following sustained pressure, Luke Smith’s offload enabled Finley Glare to break through the defensive line and score. Hawkins’ conversion attempt struck the upright.

Bradford missed an opportunity to regain the lead shortly afterwards when Ackers’ pass was knocked on close to the line. Both sides then made handling errors in attacking positions late in the half. In the closing minutes, Morea evaded a tackle and passed to Tindall, who scored in the corner. Morea took over kicking duties but was unable to convert.

Bradford threatened early in the second half, advancing 80 metres from the kick-off before a knock-on was forced near the line. London responded with a strong set of their own, but Epel Kapinias knocked on close to scoring.

Joe Mellor then made a break that was continued by Aekins, before Ackers finished the movement under the posts. Milnes converted to give Bradford the lead. The Bulls had another opportunity soon after, but London defended and Okunbor kicked dead in goal.

Following Max’s departure, London’s defensive structure was disrupted. In the 61st minute, a kick from Waqa Blake was collected by Ethan Ryan, who scored behind the posts. Milnes converted.

Bradford extended their lead eight minutes from time, moving the ball the length of the field before Mellor’s pass sent Dan Russell over in the corner. Milnes added the conversion.

A final try further extended the margin when Ed Chamberlain was tackled close to the London line and Blake scored from dummy half. Milnes’ conversion attempt struck the upright.

Please note: There are rail replacement services in place between Clapham Junction and Surbiton/Wimbledon on Sunday only. Travelling by train, you can get to either Earlsfield (12 minutes from London Waterloo) or Wimbledon (16 minutes from London Waterloo) station which are both walkable distances from the stadium (17 minutes/0.8 miles from Earlsfield, 29 minutes/1.4 miles from Wimbledon). You can also take a taxi/uber from these stations which will take around 5 minutes from either station. Alternatively, you can travel to Tooting Broadway station on the London Underground Northern Line and either take the 493 bus to the stadium or it's a 15 minute walk. Haydons Road (Thameslink) is also a viable option and is the closest station at just a 10 minute walk.

Match Report: Oldham RLFC

London Broncos 25 - 08 Oldham RLFC

London Broncos and Oldham Roughyeds produced a competitive and engaging contest, with the hosts eventually pulling clear for a 25–8 win. While London led for most of the game, the scoreline only became decisive in the final quarter, after a sustained challenge from Oldham.

London opened with early attacking intent, sparked by a 40–20 from Dean Hawkins followed by a penalty, though they were unable to convert the pressure into points. When Oldham gained possession, they responded well, matching London physically and territorially. Handling proved difficult on a damp surface, and London knocked on twice in the opening six minutes.

Both sides used kicks in play creatively, though defences dealt effectively with most efforts. One exception came from a Riley Dean kick that forced London to concede a goal-line drop-out and led to the opening points. Former Bronco Kieran Dixon kicked a 30-metre penalty after a late tackle, putting Oldham ahead. Dixon was a consistent influence throughout the match.

London responded quickly with the game’s first try. Oldham were unable to build pressure from the restart and conceded a penalty, allowing London to capitalise on improved field position. A long pass from Jimmy Meadows was finished strongly by Alex Max, although Meadows was unable to convert.

Soon after, Dixon was tackled by three London defenders and forced back over his own line. The referee had already called ‘held’, resulting in a penalty to Oldham, a decision that surprised the home side. The timing of the call was marginal, but had Dixon been grounded short of the line, no infringement would have occurred.

In the 32nd minute, a Hawkins grubber led to London’s second try. The ball took an awkward bounce, evading Dixon, and Reagan Campbell-Gillard grounded under pressure. Gairo Voro converted from in front to extend the lead.

Jack Croft later appeared to break clear for Oldham, but play was halted for a forward pass. Both teams created late first-half opportunities, though neither could turn possession into points before the interval.

Oldham began the second half with renewed intensity and were rewarded after 45 minutes when Cole Geyer broke through a defensive gap to score. The try followed an extended period of pressure, including multiple six-again calls and a penalty. Dixon converted to reduce the deficit to two points.

Moments later, Jake Bibby attempted a grubber kick close to London’s line, but an unpredictable bounce sent the ball into touch in goal. A disagreement between officials was resolved in London’s favour, resulting in a seven-tackle set.

London’s next try came after an attempted interception fell short. Connor O’Beirne’s pass was touched by an Oldham defender but reached Robert Mathias, who finished well. Voro missed the conversion, keeping the margin narrow at six points.

Mathias soon crossed again, but the try was disallowed for a forward pass. Oldham then successfully intercepted near London’s line and created a prime scoring opportunity, though London’s defence held firm.

The decisive moment came in the 66th minute. An interception by Liam Tindall halted a likely Oldham scoring chance and turned defence into attack, with Tindall racing 85 metres to score. Voro’s conversion attempt struck the post.

Despite fatigue, both sides defended resolutely in the closing stages. London were denied further scores, while Oldham’s Harvey Makin was held up by a four-man tackle.

With two minutes remaining, Finley Glare exploited a lapse in Oldham’s defensive organisation from dummy half, sprinting through to score beside the posts. Jack Croft converted.

There was still time for one final play, and Dean Hawkins closed the scoring with a 35-metre drop goal as the siren approached.

Five London Schools Progress to the National Knock-Out Rounds after a great Finals Series, with some outstanding talent on show

Congratulations to the London Champions in the National Schools Rugby League Competition! The finals all took place with the support of the RFL, the London Rugby League Foundation and the London Broncos at Chiswick RFC, with trophies and medals awarded by London Broncos Players Siliva Havili, Jake Ramsden, Sam Davies and Brandon Webster-Mansfield.

St James Boys Year 11s were the winners in the stand-out tie of the London Finals, winning 30-26 in golden point extra time. A determined Turing House had overturned a 14-0 early deficit to tie the match at full-time, and nearly snatched a dramatic comeback win with a drop goal in extra time, which shaved the edge of the posts. However, it wasn’t to be as St James’ classy dummy half and half-back pairing went up to the other end of the pitch to break the Turing hearts.

Elsewhere, John Fisher were too strong for a spirited Kings side in the Year 7 competition. Kings had held John Fisher to only 8-6 at half-time, but Fisher pulled away in the second half thanks to some quality ball playing at half back, and some strong runners out wide, and eventually ran out 36-6 victors.

In the Year 8s, Teddington ran out to a 24-10 half-time lead despite some good footwork and solid defence from Langley Park. However, Teddington eventually took the trophy 44-20, with some great tries in the second half.

The Year 9 competition saw Dorothy Stringer take on Kingsdale. Dorothy Stringer scored three early tries to move to take them to 14-0, but Kingsdale hung in and some strong carries up front and great finishing out wide reduced arrears to 20-10 at half-time. The Year 10s competition saw a great match between St James Boys and Graveney, who were making their first appearance in the Final. St James were leading 16-0 at half time after some quality play, but Graveney hit back in the second half with two fantastic long range tries , and caused a few jitters in the St James’ camp, before finally going down 26-16.

The winners of these matches will proceed to the Round of 16 in the National Champion Schools Competition, and given the strength of the South-East schools we look forward to them providing strong competition to the schools from the heartlands. Langley Park progressed to the National Quarter-Final in the Year 7 competition last year, only losing to the eventual winners from St Helens, while St James Boys and Dorothy Stringer lost tight matches in Cumbria and Hull, and Hemel Hemptead School lost to a school from Warrington.

As usual, the Year 7 National Final will take place at Wembley Stadium before the Challenge Cup Final on 30th May, while the Year 8, 9 & 10 Finals will be the week of 29th June and the Year 11 Final will be on Wednesday 22nd April.

There is a major disruption at London Waterloo this weekend (Sunday, Feb 1st) due to essential engineering work. Most trains to and from Waterloo are cancelled or revised, and no trains will call at Earlsfield or Vauxhall.

Train:

From Central London: You cannot travel directly from Waterloo to Earlsfield. Instead, take the London Underground (Northern Line) to Wimbledon or Tooting Broadway.

Via Wimbledon: South Western Railway services will run between Clapham Junction and Wimbledon. From Wimbledon station, the stadium is a 29-minute walk (1.4 miles) or a 5-minute taxi/Uber.

Via Earlsfield: As no trains are stopping, please avoid this station unless you are using the local bus services.

Recommended Route: Take the London Underground Northern Line to Tooting Broadway station. From there, it is a 15-minute walk to the stadium, or you can take the 493 bus which drops you right outside.

Parking: Unfortunately, there is no parking available at the stadium. Should you require parking, we advise you look at street parking via the RingGo app.

Season ticket holders can collect their membership packs in the fanzone. Access to the stadium requires your digital season ticket. A member of staff will be on hand to assist.

London Broncos Announce 2026 Reserves Fixtures

The London Broncos are delighted to be welcomed back into the 2026 Super League Reserve competition.

The programme will be led by Tony Musgrave and supported by Dan Roberts and Mark Roughsedge.

The Broncos will open their 2026 season away on Saturday 14 February taking on Hull FC at the University of Hull.

Most home fixtures will take place at Hazelwood, with one game scheduled at Richmond Athletic Ground.

London Broncos delivered a historic and record-breaking performance in the second round of the Betfred Challenge Cup, dominating local rivals Wests Warriors 86–0 at the Richmond Athletic Ground. This emphatic victory not only secured progression to the third round against the Bradford Bulls but set a new club benchmark for the largest competitive win in the club’s history.

The Broncos began with purpose and applied pressure from the opening exchanges, spending extended periods in attacking territory. The opening score arrived inside the first quarter as sustained possession eventually created space on the edge, allowing Alex Max to cross and a Jimmy Meadows conversion for the first points of the afternoon.

Further tries by Liam Tindall, Elliot Wallis, Gairo Voro followed as London continued to test the Wests Warriors defence. London added to their lead through a combination of direct carries through the middle and wider movement on later tackles, with conversions extending the margin. Despite the scoreline beginning to move, the Warriors continued to compete, though they were unable to convert pressure into points.

London continued to add tries before half time capitalising on repeat sets close to the line and maintaining a high completion rate. The Warriors defended for long periods but were unable to prevent further scores, leaving the Broncos with a significant advantage at half-time.

After the restart, London increased the tempo, accelerating play-the-balls and maintaining territorial control. The pressure quickly translated into points as the Broncos crossed again through close-range efforts, followed by further scores out wide as the ball was shifted effectively across the field.

As the second half progressed, London continued to dominate possession and field position. Additional tries came through Ben Hursey-Hord, Alex Max, and Morea Morea as the Warriors were forced to defend repeated sets on their own line.

The closing stages followed a similar pattern, with London maintaining defensive discipline and limiting Wests Warriors’ attacking opportunities. Further scoring chances were created by Marcus Stock, Robert Mathias, Epel Kapinias, and Gairo Voro. The Broncos added to their total before seeing out the match without conceding.

The result confirmed London Broncos’ progression in the competition, with the performance characterised by control of possession, consistent defensive effort, and a decisive accumulation of points across both halves.

Walking Directions from the Station: Exit the station and turn right. Cross the A316 at the traffic lights, continue for about 50 yards and the entrance to the ground will be on your right.

Travelling by Bus: Numerous bus routes serve Richmond Station, including the 65, 190, 337, 371, 391, 419, and R68. From the station bus stops, it is a very short walk to the ground.

London Broncos 44-12 Widnes Vikings

London Broncos produced a strong all-round performance to secure victory, building a narrow half-time advantage before pulling clear with a dominant second half that yielded 28 unanswered points.

The Broncos started with intent and were close to opening the scoring inside the first ten minutes, Connor O’Beirne being held up just short of the line on the last tackle. The breakthrough followed shortly after when Dean Hawkins showed quick thinking and footwork to create a 20-metre try, which Jack Croft converted.

London extended their lead in the 19th minute through Alex Max, who powered through multiple defenders from distance to touch down. Croft again added the extras. Despite the early scores, the contest remained tight, with both defences limiting opportunities and territory hard to come by.

Widnes responded through a sustained period of pressure, reducing the deficit with a close-range try from Jordan Johnstone, converted by Jordan Abdull. The visitors later added a second try through Sam Wilde, and Abdull’s subsequent penalty goal brought the scores level at 12–12 midway through the half.

The Broncos regained control just before the break. Hawkins broke through the line and managed to offload to Robert Mathias, who crossed to restore London’s lead, giving the hosts a four-point advantage at half-time.

London increased their tempo after the restart, quickening play-the-balls and stretching the Widnes defence. Although an early chance went begging when Neil Tchamambe was unable to gather a diagonal kick, the pressure soon told. Reagan Campbell-Gillard powered over from close range for his first try for the club, before Lewis Bienek followed with another after a penalty close to the Widnes line, Croft converting both.

The Broncos then shifted the ball effectively across the field on the last tackle, creating space for Elliot Wallis to finish in the corner. Further tries followed as London continued to control possession and territory. Replacement hooker Jimmy Meadows added to the tally with a sharp dart from dummy-half and Max completed a fine individual performance with his second try after sustained attacking pressure.

Widnes were largely restricted in the closing stages as London’s defence remained solid and the side continued to apply pressure in attack. Although a final score was denied, the Broncos saw out the match comfortably to cap a convincing performance built on control, intensity, and a decisive second-half display.

London Broncos Girls Talent Pathway Launched!

Talent Pathway Programme for Girls U12s to U16s and U17s to U19s

The London Rugby League Foundation and the London Broncos are delighted to launch the London Broncos Girls Rugby League Talent Pathway Programme for 2026. This will be in addition to the playing opportunities with their Community Clubs in the London Junior League, which should provide extensive opportunities for Girls across the regional to take part in and develop in rugby league.

There are two key parts to the Programme:

U12s to U16s - London Broncos Development Training (Community to Performance)

For U12s to U16s (Year 7 to Year 11), there will be London Broncos Development Training Sessions, which will run alongside the Boys Development Training Sessions, and will be lead by the Head Coach of the London Broncos Women, Colin Baker. These sessions will be a great way to improve core rugby skills as well as develop skills specific for rugby league.

The sessions are FREE and OPEN TO ALL, and will take place in February Half-Term, Easter Holidays and May Half-Term Please see the registration forms for the February sessions below.

The NextGenRL Programme is for U17s to U19s, and aims to develop top-level players for the London Broncos Women in the near future. Players may be invited to take part in an initial block of 5 training sessions with the London Broncos Women's Team. At the end of this period they may be invited to continue playing with the London Broncos Women, or to return to or join a Community Club, or both.

Each player who is part of the Programme will receive a Player Development Plan, and for the players who play for Community Clubs, the London Broncos Women's Head Coach will be aiming to attend Women's Southern Championship matches.

Courtney Treco to Step Down as London Broncos Women’s Captain for 2026

London Broncos Women announce that Courtney Treco will step down as team captain ahead of the 2026 season.

Courtney has been a player since the inception of London Broncos Women in 2021 and has captained the side for the past four seasons, becoming a central figure in the club’s journey from its earliest days. As one of the programme’s originals, she provided vital support to Head Coach Colin Baker in the early years, helping to keep the team together during a formative and often challenging period.

On the field, Courtney’s influence has been significant. Operating in the pivotal half position, she combined game management, skill and composure with strong leadership. She was also a trusted representative of the playing group, ensuring the team’s thoughts, beliefs and values were clearly communicated, helping players feel heard and contributing to the close bond within the squad. Her experience representing the USA internationally and the England Community Lions brought invaluable standards and professionalism to the Broncos environment.

Beyond her playing role, Courtney has been a passionate advocate for the growth of the women’s game. Through interviews, articles and wider roles throughout her career, she has consistently represented the Broncos with pride, championing women’s sport and women’s rugby league across London and the South.

Head Coach Colin Baker said:
“On a personal note, whilst I am sad to see Courtney step down as Captain, I respect her decision, as she feels it is the right time for her. To say that she has ‘done her bit’ is an understatement. For four seasons, I have relied on her support and counsel through the good times and the struggles. Courtney has scored tries, kicked goals, recruited players, and was the ‘face’ of Broncos in the media during the early seasons spreading the word. She will go down as one of the great Broncos Women. Thank you Courtney.”

While stepping down from the captaincy, Courtney will remain a key presence within the Broncos Women programme in 2026, focusing on her on-field peformance and enjoying her rugby. The club is incredibly grateful for her service and for the role she has played in developing London Broncos Women into what it is today, as well as her wider contribution to growing the sport in the region.

Courtney Treco said:

“It’s been an honour to serve as captain of London Broncos Women for the last 4 years, and I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished together. As I step away from my leadership role, I’m excited to continue contributing on the field and support our new leadership in the next chapter. Looking forward to the season ahead!”

London Broncos Talent Pathway 2026 Launched!

Extensive programme includes Training Sessions, Origin Series, London Rep & England Pathway

The London Broncos and London Rugby League Foundation are very excited to be launching the London Broncos Rugby League Talent Pathway 2026! With real opportunities to significantly improve rugby skills, become a top level rugby player or even play for England, please join the London Broncos Talent Pathway Programme today !

The London Broncos have a proud history of developing professional and international rugby league players from London & South-East, including two players in the England team for the recent Ashes Series vs Australia.

There is an extensive Talent Pathway Programme in place which helps drives this player development. The Programme currently comprises 4 segments:

1) London Broncos Development Training Sessions - For U12s to U16s and Open to All. Sessions will be in both North London & South London during February Half-Term, Easter Holidays, May Half-Term and a midweek evening in June/July. Bookings for the Feb sessions are now open - see below.

2) Origin Series - the Best of North London vs South London at U14s & U16s in September. In advance of that, some U15 & U16 players will also be invited to Higher Performance Training Sessions in April, May and June. In order to be eligible for the Origin Series, players need to play at least two Junior League Matches unless there are exceptional circumstances.

4) England Community Lions U16s & U17s - The England Community Lions comprises the best players in England who aren't engaged in a Super League Academy or Scholarship Programme. The best players from the Origin Series and London Broncos U16s will be invited to trial for the England Community Lions the following Spring, ahead of a series of International Matches next summer.

1500 players from 50 Schools have taken part in the South-East Champion Schools Competition!

Congratulations to the ten schoo ls from Year 7 to Year 11 who have reached the Finals of the London & South-East stage of the National Champion Schools Competition.

Nearly 1500 players from nearly 50 schools across the region took part in regional qualifying competitions in order to progress to the London Festivals, where the best half dozen teams from each age group competed for a place in the London Finals. The London Festivals all took place at St James' Boys School in Ashford, West London, over the last few weeks, and saw some great rugby league being played, and some fantastic rugby league talent on display.

St James' Boys were the most successful school so far, reaching the Final of both the Year 11 and Year 10 competitions, following on from their strong showing in the National Knock-Out rounds of these competitions last year, while South London teams reached four of the five finals. However, nine different schools reached the London Finals overall across the age groups, showing the breadth and depth of the competition across the region.

The following schools make up the Finals, which will be played in January at Chiswick RFC, home of London Broncos Women in 2025:

London Broncos Announce 2026 Championship Fixture Schedule

The London Broncos are pleased to officially release the full fixture list for the 2026 Betfred Championship season. The 2026 campaign consists of 26 regular-season rounds, including 12 home games, 12 away games and 2 bye rounds, spanning January through August.

The Broncos will open their 2026 season on Sunday 18 January, hosting the Widnes Vikings at Cherry Red Records Stadium with a 3:00pm kick-off. The Broncos and Vikings split their games in the 2025 season, with the away team winning on each occasion. The London Broncos will look to buck that trend to start their 2026 campaign with a win. It will be the first outing for the Broncos’ new look squad who for many, will be their first competitive rugby league game in the UK.

“Coming to England is a massive opportunity and I’m buzzing to get started. The Club’s vision fired me up straight away and I can’t wait to start our season with a win at home”, said star Australian recruit Reagan Campbell-Gillard.

“The squad has already made a promising start to the preseason with the international players all well and truly acclimatised to the English winter. We’re excited to start at home and show the fans what we’ve been hard at work for”, said Head Coach Jason Demetriou.

It will also be the first opportunity for fans to be part of a revamped matchday experience beyond just 80 minutes of rugby.

“We are planning on creating a unique matchday and entertaining experience that gives both the London member and fan a reason to come and join the fun. We will be making some exciting announcements in the lead up to our first home game so stay tuned.”

London U16s Win All Matches Against Super League Foundations

London Teams Score 148 points and concede only 12

Two London Rugby League U16s sides travelled to Oulton Raiders in Leeds to take part in a major RFL Tournament against Super League Foundations, for the first time in several years.

With matches against teams from Leeds Rhinos, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Castleford/Featherstone, this was a great test for the Southern based players. However, it was a test they passed with flying colours, with both London teams winning all seven of their matches, scoring 148 points in total, and conceding only 12.

Awards presented by Adam Hills and Darren Lockyer at Sell-Out Event!

The London Rugby League Foundation held a celebration of community rugby league in London last night, which included the London Rugby League Community Club Awards, presented by TV's PDRL international trailblazer, Adam Hills, and Rugby League legend and London Broncos new co-owner, Darren Lockyer.

The sell-out event was a huge success with well over 100 members from 16 community clubs, plus many London Broncos fans, in attendance. The community club awards recognised the outstanding achievements of 12 volunteers from 10 different clubs, chosen from over 70 nominations, showing the strength and breadth of community rugby league in the region. The event also raised much-needed funds for the London Rugby League Foundation which will be used directly to support community rugby league in London. This includes direct support for community clubs, organising the talent pathways, overseeing the girls futures and supporting the London Broncos women, as well as engaging in broader community projects.

London Broncos Commit to Continued Growth and Future Super League Ambitions

The London Broncos acknowledge the Rugby Football League’s (‘RFL’) decision following its competition structure review process. The Club will continue its journey in the Betfred Championship (‘Championship’) for the 2026 season.

Although the Broncos have not been selected for promotion to the Betfred Super League (‘Super League’), the Club remains confident in its vision and long-term ambitions, with the review process only strengthening our commitment to once more reaching the top level of the English game.

Supported by new investment, a refreshed leadership group, and guidance from leading sports and rugby league consultants, the Broncos are delivering a clear plan for long-term success on and off the pitch.

Incoming club owner Grant Wechsel said the outcome would only strengthen the Broncos’ resolve.

"While we are naturally disappointed not to have been promoted and respect the process the RFL ran, our belief in this project and our direction as a club will not waiver. The game of Rugby League needs a strong London team, and we will not stop until we return our club to the top level of the game. Darren Lockyer and I are determined people, and today’s decision will serve as strong motivation to drive our success in 2026 and prove people wrong,” said Wechsel.

"Our goal is to win the Championship, strengthen every area of the organisation, increase our grading points across the board, and ensure that when we do reach Super League, we are ready to compete from day one,” said Wechsel.

The Club’s new ownership group, features National Rugby League Hall of Famer Darren Lockyer who will play a key role in shaping the Broncos’ growth and vision.

“This remains an exciting period for the Club. The Broncos are building with purpose and clarity, and there is real belief in what can be achieved. Our coach and many of our significant player signings for 2026 were committed to this regardless of the Super League decision and we will work hard together to achieve a new goal of winning the championship in 2026,” said Lockyer.

“Congratulations to the clubs promoted for 2026, but London deserves a strong and competitive Super League presence, and we are committed to making that a reality,” Wechsel added.

“We believe in London, as a city and as a key location for the game globally. We call upon all the fans in London as well as new supporters and members to join us on the ride back to the Super League as soon as possible.”

As custodians of rugby league in England’s south, the Broncos remain dedicated to expanding the game’s reach, reputation, and pathways.

London Broncos can announce the Club has received a score of 11.65 for the upcoming season which sees us move to 16th in the gradings. Hull KR’s historic on-field success in the 2025 season has lifted them to the top of the Club Grading rankings produced by the RFL and IMG to measure and drive the development of the sport.

The Robins, who won their first Betfred Super League title at Old Trafford on Saturday night to follow their Wembley triumph in the Challenge Cup Final in June, become the third different club to lead the way in as many years since indicative gradings were first published in 2023 - with Leeds Rhinos and St Helens, who were top in 2023 and 2024 respectively, now second and third.

Hull KR’s total score of 17.85 out of a maximum 20 across the five grading pillars – Fandom, Finance, Stadium, Community and On-Field Performance (*see below for full details) – is the highest achieved by any club over the last three years, boosted by 0.75 points for their Grand Final triumph, and 0.25 for their Challenge Cup win.

They were sixth in the original indicative rankings in 2023 with a score of 15.52, climbing to fifth last year with 15.97.

Nine of the 12 Betfred Super League clubs have passed the threshold of 15 points required for an A Grade – the same number as in 2024.

Wigan Warriors, who finished second in the Super League table and reached their third consecutive Grand Final, are fourth in the rankings, with Leigh Leopards climbing two places to fifth.

Warrington Wolves, Catalans Dragons and Wakefield Trinity all retain their A grading in sixth, seventh and eighth respectively, and Hull FC regain Grade A status and climb from 10th to ninth after lifting their overall grading score from 14.51 to 15.06.

Bradford Bulls are the highest-ranked of 15 clubs who earn a B Grade, climbing from 16th in the 2024 table to 10th by lifting their score from 12.15 to 14.81 – and making them comfortably the highest-ranked club from outside the current Betfred Super League.

They are followed by Castleford Tigers (14.66) and Huddersfield Giants (14.65) – with those three B-graded clubs joining the nine Grade As in the 12 who secure automatic places in the 2026 Super League.

Following a decision by the existing Super League clubs to prioritise expansion of the competition, a Panel has been considering the possibility of admitting two additional clubs for 2026 – with their decision to be announced on Friday morning.

Those clubs who do not secure Super League places will play in an expanded Betfred Championship in 2026, following a recent decision to merge the Championship with Betfred League One.

Batley Bulldogs and Whitehaven, the two clubs who were not graded in 2024 because of delays in their submissions, come into the table in 21st and 29th respectively – Batley graded B with a score of 8.16, and Whitehaven one of nine clubs who receive a Grade C with a score of 6.23.

Keighley Cougars and Newcastle Thunder have not been given a score having failed to meet the deadline for submitting the necessary information, although as in the cases of Batley and Whitehaven last year, the RFL will work with those clubs to assess what their score and ranking would have been should it be relevant in terms of their share of central distributions.

Salford Red Devils have slipped from 12th with a score of 13.97 to 15th with a score of 12.65, with their Finance score reflecting information submitted for the 2022-24 seasons – and not including the 2025 season.

They have had 0.25 points deducted from their score as a result of the deduction of two competition points for breaching operational rules in their team selection for the Round One fixture at St Helens in February.

Salford are one of three clubs, with Featherstone Rovers and Halifax Panthers of the Betfred Championship, who are the subject of HMRC petitions, which could affect their Finance score for 2026 should the petitions be confirmed.
