GIRLS TALENT PATHWAY

London Broncos Girls Talent Pathway

Women’s and girls’ rugby league is growing rapidly across London and the South East, with London Broncos playing a leading role. London Broncos Women topped the Championship last season, going unbeaten and narrowly missing promotion to the Super League in a dramatic Grand Final.

To build on this success and develop the next generation of elite female players, the London Broncos Foundation and London Broncos are delivering a dedicated Talent Pathway. This includes free, open Development Training Sessions for U12s to U16s, alongside elite training opportunities for U17s to U19s with the London Broncos Women.

London Broncos Development Training

London Broncos Development Training Sessions are two hour sessions that are open to all and designed to develop core skills while providing a first step on the London Broncos Talent Pathway.

London Broncos professional coaches, led by London Broncos Women’s Head Coach Colin Baker, will deliver high quality training to help players improve their game. Coaches will also support and assess player development as they progress along the pathway. The sessions are a strong complement to training and playing at a community rugby league club.

Three sessions will be delivered in North London and South London during February half term, the Easter holidays and May half term. Registration is now open for the February sessions.

NextGenRL for London Broncos Women

The NextGenRL Programme is for players aged U17s to U19s and aims to develop top-level talent for the London Broncos Women. Players are invited to take part in an initial block of five training sessions with the London Broncos Women’s Team. At the end of this period, they may be invited to continue playing with the London Broncos Women, return to or join a community club, or both.

Each player will receive a personalised Player Development Plan. For those playing at community clubs, the London Broncos Women’s Head Coach will aim to attend Women’s Southern Championship matches.
