Hunslet RLFC 18 - 54 London Broncos
London Broncos recorded a 54–18 victory over Hunslet, pulling away in the second half after a competitive opening 40 minutes.
The Broncos made a strong start and opened the scoring in the third minute when Luke Smith broke through the defensive line to score beneath the posts. Jimmy Meadows converted before London doubled their lead five minutes later. Neil Tchamambe intercepted a pass in Hunslet territory and raced away to score under the posts, with Meadows again adding the extras.
Hunslet responded in the 15th minute when Mackenzie Turner crossed for a converted try to reduce the deficit to 12–6. London quickly restored their momentum. Tchamambe claimed his second try of the afternoon after Morea Morea managed to flick the ball to him in support, allowing the winger to finish in the corner.
Connor O’Beirne made an immediate impact after coming off the bench, providing a short pass that sent Sadiq Adebiyi through a gap for London’s fourth try. Meadows converted to extend the lead to 24–6.
The home side remained in contention and scored again through Turner in the 30th minute, which was converted by Billy Jowitt. London answered before the break when Finley Glare took a quick tap and found Emarly Bitungane, who powered over from close range. Meadows converted, but Hunslet had the final say of the half when Jayden Hatten crossed shortly before the interval and Jowitt added the conversion, leaving the Broncos with a 30–18 lead at half-time.
The second half began with both teams completing sets, but London gradually took control of possession and field position. Hunslet created some opportunities through their kicking game, while the Broncos threatened through quick ball movement and support play.
The key moment came in the 55th minute when Morea intercepted a pass and ran the length of the field to score. Meadows converted to push the lead beyond two scores.
London continued to build pressure and added further tries through Tchamambe, who completed his hat-trick after the ball was shifted to the right edge, and Ben Hursey-Hord, who charged over from a short O’Beirne pass after consecutive penalties inside Hunslet territory.
The Broncos continued to create chances in the closing stages. Tchamambe broke clear down the sideline, Hursey-Hord threatened through the middle, and Morea completed his double in the 76th minute when he collected a cut-out pass to score out wide. Meadows converted to complete the scoring.
Hunslet continued to attack late in the game, forcing a goal-line dropout following a try-saving defensive effort from London, but they were unable to add further points.
The result saw London equal the club record for most consecutive wins with 14.
