It’s fantastic to be back here in successive weeks and once again we’re in for a heck of a fight in the heat against a star studded Warrington team.
Firstly, thank you for your immense support last weekend. It will certainly go down as one of the highlights of the season. The noise generated from the far stand as the game was in the balance was instrumental in getting the boys over the line. It was fitting that the game ended right in front of you all as Butler hoofed the ball over the sideline after the hooter. The scenes of the boys celebrating with you all together were magic; and sticking together for the run in, irrespective of the impending IMG decisions is how we must remain. Let’s stand tall and proud together and keep fighting!
This week we face an outstanding Warrington side. I actually believe this will be our toughest of the remaining fixtures. Sam Burgess’ team will offer speed and strike from all over the park. The back 5 are the quickest in the competition without question and the speed and run threat from Williams and Walker have proven difficult for teams to handle this season. Coupled with them smarting from a defeat to KR last week, we expect an almighty challenge.
Regarding us, we have thankfully only minimal collateral to the squad from last week. As I write this I can’t give too much away as we have a few last minute checks. However Lewis and Emmanuel both return to the 21 as you will have seen which gives us a huge shoot in the arm. Our game plan will remain the same as it had done for a period of weeks now. We will look to move the ball at every opportunity to combat the size difference in us and Warrington. We will look to move them around in attack and do our best to take space from them in defence. However the game unfolds, we will give it our very best.
