Oscar Romero win the Year 8 Girls and Dorothy Stringer win the Year 8 Boys
Congratulations to St Oscar Romero School in WOrthing and Dorothy Stringer School in Brighton for winning the Year 8 Girls and Year 8 Boys in the Southern Schools InspiredBy 9s Competition.
Nearly a dozen schools came through local qualifying rounds to take part in the Finals Day at Hemel Stags last week. In the Year 8 Girls Event, defending Champions Oscar Romero proved too strong for Ridgeway and Woodfield Academy, both from Worcestershire, to retain their title.
In the Year 8 Boys, defending Champions Cleve School from Gloucestershire, went through the pool rounds unbeaten, but came up against an inspired Dorothy Stringer in the Final, who ran out 26-0 winners. Kingsdale Foundation School from Dulwich put in some creditable performances to come third, while Ridgeway and Birchensale, also from Worcestershire, came fourth and fifth.
