Speaking ahead of Sunday’s fixture, Broncos assistant coach Jordie Hedges says “We must build ourselves into the game, not trying to force our hand or give away silly penalties or errors- getting to the end of sets & putting people in corners and we will reap the rewards off the back of that.

“We look back at that game when we played them in Round 2 and there are some good bits in there for us. There were some errors defensively which we needed to work on which we think we have addressed in the last couple of weeks so it’s just about us putting it all together in an 80-minute performance.

“For us we just need to be good defensively, defend as a unit we will give them some trouble.

“The boys are pumped to be back at Wimbledon, it is such a good little stadium, it’s got everything that you need. Hopefully, we get a decent crowd in, and the fans can come and back the boys”.

Also speaking to Broncos media was Jack Campagnolo who has been back in action across the last couple of weeks after being out for a lengthy period of time with a back injury. Campagnolo says “I think we did quite well (last weekend), obviously the score line did blow out a little bit but were in the game there in the sixtieth minute. A few soft errors and some cheap get outs let them take over.

“The injury was probably the toughest time in my career. I had a few dark days and didn’t think that I would be back playing at all. You can’t put an end mark on a back injury like you can with a broken leg/arm, you take it on a week-by-week basis. I’m glad to be back and really appreciate playing footy again when you’re out for so long.

“Steering the team comes second nature to me and I want to do that this weekend vs Catalans.

“There is a lot more athletes & full time in the Super League than I have been used to playing with week in week out. It’s been good to test myself with the bigger bodies coming through the middle & faster line speeds, your reaction time is a lot reduced compared to reserve grade in Australia. I’ve been really enjoying testing myself”.

LONDON BRONCOS V YORK CITY KNIGHTS (by David Ballheimer) London Broncos (6) 6, York City Knights (10) 36 London Broncos conceded four tries in 18 early second-half minutes which allowed York RL Knights to run away with the game at a cold and blowy Cherry Red Records stadium. The dismal chill that developed through the early evening was rather indicative of the London performance. It all seemed very different in bright warm sunshine during the opening exchanges, and it was the Broncos who scored first, in the eighth minute. The possession went almost 100 metres starting with an excellent kick return by Chris Hellec. A penalty late in the possession essentially gave a repeat set, starting five metres from the York line and, a few tackles later, the ball was fed to the left wing, where Liam Tindall was able to squeeze over in the corner. Hellec’s conversion from the touchline was superb.

WHO HAS PLAYED FOR BOTH? London Broncos & York Knights London Broncos play host to York Knights on Saturday but can you tell me what players that have had both clubs play host to them? We have picked out some to have played for both in recent years but can you add any more to the list below? SAM DAVIS A London Broncos academy product, the Leicester born hooker has enjoyed two spells in the capital, sandwiched either side of a spell in the yellow and black of York. Davis played for London between 2016-2021 before moving to York signing a two year deal, however injuries meant he never really settled and rejoined London in 2023 initially on loan before signing permanent terms. Following relegation from Super League at the end of the 2024 season Davis would move to Salford however financial issues there has meant Davis has once again signed dual-registration terms. So, whilst it won’t be this weekend we could see more of Sammy in a Broncos jersey in the future.
