U14 & U16 Origin Series Details Announced

The Best of North London vs the Best of South London - U14s & U16s!

We are pleased to announce details for the London & South-East Rugby League Origin Series for 2025! This is the next step on the Talent Pathway in London & South-East.


The series will pit the Best of the North of London against the Best of the South of London at U14s and U16s over a two match series, with the winners crowned Origin Champions for 2025!


Schedule & Venues:


The series will take place in September, with each team having two training sessions on midweek evenings in their region and two matches on Sunday afternoons, with each team coached by a professional London Broncos coach. The dates and venues are as follows:

North Training:

Tues 9th Sept – U14s & U16s – Brentwood Eels – 7-9pm

Tues 16th Sept - U14s & U16s – Brentwood Eels – 7-9pm


South Training:

Wed 10th Sept – U14s & U16s – St Mary’s University, Twickenham – 7-9pm

Wed 17th Sept – U14s & U16s – St Mary’s University, Twickenham – 7-9pm

Sun 14th Sept – U14s Origin I – North (Brentwood Eels) – 2pm Kick Off

Sun 14th Sept – U16s Origin I - North (Brentwood Eels) – 4pm Kick Off

Sun 21st Sept – U14s Origin II – South (St Mary’s Uni) – 2pm Kick Off

Sun 21st Sept – U16s Origin II – South (St Mary’s Uni) – 4pm Kick Off


Lions Development Training Sessions - Sign up for 26th Jun & 3rd July!


The Origin Series will follow on from the Lions Development Training Sessions, the last of which are 26th June (South) and 3rd July (North). These sessions will be taken by the Origin Coaches for each team, so will be a great opportunity to get to know these coaches, learn from them, and impress them! London & South-East U16 Rep Team


The best U16 players from the Origin Series will be selected to form a London & South-East representative Team. This team will go to Leeds during the last week of October to play a tournament against the Community Lions of various Super League teams including Leeds Rhinos, Hull KR and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.


England Community Lions


The best players from the Origin Series and the London & South-East may have the opportunity to play for the England Community Lions during 2026. England Community Lions U18s and U16s will play a 4 Nations Series against the other Home Nations, and the U17s will play a Series against France, both during the summer term of 2026.

London Broncos Announce Super League Ambitions and New Ownership London Broncos are excited to confirm that it has formally provided a comprehensive submission to the RFL’s Super League 2026 Application Process and Criteria. The comprehensive bid submission represents a clear vision for the future of the London Broncos and for the growth of the game in London. The submission is a detailed operational and financial plan for the Club to achieve financial sustainability and success both on and off the field. The London Broncos are proposing changes in governance at the Club, including a new ownership group which will consist of rugby league legend Darren Lockyer, successful businessman Grant Wechsel and Gary Hetherington. These changes will provide the Club with the capital, commitment, credibility and capability that are required to be a competitive force in the top-tier competition.

TEAM NEWS: Widnes Vikings vs London Broncos Here is your starting line up for this afternoon’s final league game of the season away at Widnes Vikings. Jensen Monk comes in to start at prop as Adebiyi and Hursey-Hord drop out of the squad following injuries last weekend. Rob Oakley is in the matchday squad and is joined on the interchanges with Rugless, Porter and Ross. Today Lewis Bienek makes his 150th appearance and Will Lovell his 250th - and also his 198th for the club moving him into 2nd all time. #WeAreLondon

MATCH PREVIEW: Widnes Vikings vs London Broncos It is the final weekend of the Championship season and London Broncos make the trip up to Widnes Vikings. Broncos were unable to sign off the home campaign with a win over Bradford Bulls but put in a positive display leading at half-time and scoring 24 points against the promotion hopefuls. Widnes have enjoyed a revival in recent months and made a late charge for the play-off positions. Ultimately a defeat at Halifax last week meant they would fall short but would still be confident of finishing the season on a high in front of their own supporters. Rob Oakley is also named in the 21-man squad after returning from his ban. Oakley is a product of the club's academy and played for the first-team in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. The 25-year-old has been training with the club in recent months and now available for selection he is named in the matchday squad.

INTERVIEW: Ted Davidson's journey to London Broncos first-team Ted Davidson recently made his full first-team debut for London Broncos in the Championship game at Batley Bulldogs. The 23-year-old was a stand out performer despite perhaps being a surprise inclusion in the starting 13. The centre has been in and around the club for a number of years after being spotted playing Origin whilst at junior club Elmbridge Eagles in 2018.
