London Broncos 78 - 06 Doncaster RLFC
London Broncos completed the 2026 season with a 78–6 victory over Doncaster, securing the Betfred Championship Grand Final and completing a season in which they also won the League Leaders’ Shield and 1895 Cup.
The result brought London’s total number of major titles to six across their 46 seasons, including their periods as Fulham, Fulham Bears, London Crusaders, London Broncos and Harlequins RL. Their previous titles were the 1982–83 Division Two Championship, the 2018 Million Pound Game and the 2023 Million Pound Game.
The Broncos also finished the season averaging more than 60 points per game across 34 matches.
After six minutes without a score, Doncaster were penalised for offside at the play-the-ball and then lost possession 15 metres from their own line. On the fourth tackle, Siliva Havili was held up in-goal. On the final tackle, London moved the ball to the right, where Dean Hawkins found Jimmy Meadows, with Luke Smith making a dummy run. Meadows ran through to score under the posts and converted his own try.
From the restart, Emarly Bitungane made ground before Havili broke through the Doncaster defensive line. When Tom Holmes moved across to make the tackle, Havili passed to Hawkins, who went through to score after fending off Cory Aston. Meadows converted.
London scored again following a Doncaster knock-on by Muizz Mustapha near halfway. Meadows stepped past the defensive line and ran through to score his second try. He converted to make it 18–0.
Following a penalty against Neil Tchamambe for tackling Holmes in the air, Aston kicked to touch to give Doncaster field position. A potential try-scoring pass was ruled forward before the visitors received a repeat set after London were penalised on the final tackle.
London defended the set and gathered Aston’s kick through Brandon Webster-Mansfield, who returned the ball 20 metres. The Broncos then moved downfield, with Webster-Mansfield passing to Tchamambe, who crossed in the corner. Meadows was unable to convert.
Doncaster then had another attacking opportunity, but Jacob Jones was penalised for obstruction at the play-the-ball. London moved into the visitors’ half and won a scrum after a Doncaster knock-on 20 metres from the line.
With Doncaster defending Voro’s side of the field, London moved the ball in the opposite direction and Hawkins passed to Robert Mathias, who crossed to score. Meadows converted to make it 28–0.
London scored again from their next possession. Elliot Wallis collected a Hawkins kick, jumping above Sam Smeaton, before breaking through three tackles and grounding the ball. Meadows was unable to convert.
Havili then broke through several tackles before scoring beside the posts. Meadows converted, bringing his tally to five goals from seven attempts and taking London beyond 2,000 points for the season.
London opened the second half with another try. Loui McConnell was tackled in-goal on the first tackle, giving the Broncos possession from the resulting long restart.
London moved downfield, with Webster-Mansfield collecting Meadows’ kick after Holmes and Briscoe both moved towards the bouncing ball. Meadows converted, reaching 150 goals for the season.
London then regained possession after Reece Lyne got a hand to a pass out wide, resulting in a scrum. Hawkins and Webster-Mansfield combined to send Tchamambe over for his 40th try of the campaign. Meadows converted.
Webster-Mansfield scored again following a repeat set after another Doncaster knock-on. Morea Morea was introduced for Meadows and immediately passed to Webster-Mansfield, who crossed to score. Hawkins took over the kicking duties but was unable to convert.
In the 55th minute, Morea and Voro combined down the left, but the move was stopped when a forward pass was ruled.
Doncaster then retained possession following two penalties and two scrums. Jack Croft was sin-binned for a professional foul after shepherding Aston during a kick.
Doncaster took advantage of the extra player when Luis Johnson crossed near the posts. Connor Robinson converted to make it 56–6.
From the restart, Aston came close to producing a 40–20 kick, but Morea collected the ball and returned it almost 20 metres. Three tackles later, Connor O’Beirne and Morea combined to send Voro through for his 39th try of the season. Voro converted.
London then lost possession after three tackles, but Wallis intercepted a pass from Holmes and ran 70 metres to score in the left corner. Voro converted, taking London to 70 points.
With Croft still off the field, London added another try. Bitungane received a pass from O’Beirne, stepped past Holmes and ran through to score under the posts. Voro converted.
Johnson came close to scoring a second try in the 77th minute, but was ruled held up and London regained possession.
Hawkins then kicked a 40–20, giving London the ball 17 metres from the Doncaster line. Smeaton appeared to intercept a pass but was ruled offside.
